Hello my glorious minions... (tosses cape...)
In this video I show you a great technique, (basically fu#%ing magic) for taking an existing head with proper edge flow and wrapping it onto another head, sculpt or scan data with bad topology. Even when the meshes don't match. Thus, eliminating the need for retopology all together.
Why would you want to do this? Well this means that any time you finish one of those zbrush mesh's with bat sh%t crazy topology, all you gotta do is take a head with clean geometry and wrap it onto it. - Done.
Next time you get scan data and it needs to be retopo'd.... wrap an existing head onto it. - Done.
Did you download a model online that looks cool but has diggity dog sh%t topology? Wrap an existing head onto it. - Done
Is your girlfriend mad at you? Wrap and existing head around her. - Done.
r3ds website is located here www.russian3ds...
Got a modeling question you want me to answer? Send me an email at yolo3dartist@gmail.com and if it's interesting I'll do a video response on how to do it. Yea, fo free. Why? I have no idea.

I came across your video. Educational and hilarious! Keep it up. I have had a highres face scan of my head collecting megabytes of dust on my HD for years. I totally want to try this method. Thank you sir for the motivation.

If your model has high vertex count, you really don't need to use so many control points especially around the mouth or ears, I find it that the eyes are the ones that need most attention and usually just 2 at each corner of the socket for each eye is enough, though you can always add some extra ones if the model still looks bad after projecting once. You could always add two to the mouth corners but Wrap3 generally does everything else just fine. Also, if you actually use too many points, it'll just deform some parts incorrectly as opposed to if you didn't add any to the part that would've broken.

Ha. Well for a head this is certainly a good technique. I'm pretty jazzed about the new topo feature though that fills in the patch with all quads. It makes me feel warm and fuzzy.
