I watched it but there is a problem with the video, I believe the volume of the video is really tiny can't barely hear. I've to turn the volume very loud on my TV

Need help please. I have printed several reserved seats already. Today, traveled Lon to Amsterdam...showed my printed eurostar ticket. No problems, but here's the rub: never used my rail planner app. So technically still have 5 days. Have printed tix from Amst to Heidelberg for Friday via Ostenbrueck. If I already have printed reseved seats, do I still need to get QR code for the trip in this stupid app? If so, how do I do it? Seems I'd just go in and select the train for which I already have a reservation so I have EURAIL qr code AND code for reserved seat? In other words, how does the system KNOW if and when I've used my pass? This is so unnecessarily confusing. Thanks for any help.

So, did you ever show them your Rail Pass number in making all your previous seat reservations? If so, then the system should know how many days you have used up even if you didn't use the app at all

You shouldn't NEEd the QR code from the app if you have printed tickets BUT that is all dependent on the train conductor. We ran into one guy that looked at our printed tickets, made us open the app and then also checked out passports which were all unnecessary

Not L-->Am. Just showed eurostar printed ticket, which was purchased thru Eurail system online several mos ago. Even the Eurail website, as of this evening in Amsterdam, still shows we have 5/5 days left. Maybe the system takes some time to catch up? Kinda like getting 6 days for 5 though...my train to Waterloo will be free! ;) Like why am I even thinking about this when I should be out smoking hash in Am? Ha, ha. Not really my thing, though. Hi! i was thinking about your situation and i guess that if you pay your seat reservation at Eurail System site (maybe this site is just a site facade or site shell to a internal system to Eurostar system) and it is not linked with the Eurail APP.. Then the train conductor "best practicies" is have to check both Seat Reservation and beep QRCode from your Rail App (that will consume your avaiable day use). This is all my cents ok? i´m planning to visit Europe and i studing this Eurail APP for a long time. Thanks @@judimccaffrey9411

@@XplorArjun you should verify this since it's been almost 2 years since we used this app. But we were able to change travel dates as long as you haven't paid for tickets at a counter somewhere. We activated travel date to go from london to paris but was not able to actually get train tickets, so we changed the travel date and went from paris to brussels on another day.

@@theUnusualMomma I have 4 family global pass , do you know if the QR code is for each person? So if a inspector comes to check, do I have to show 4 different codes by enabling?

@@XplorArjun every train conductor does things differently. Some never even asked us and others checked everyone. I suggest you screenshot each QR code so that it's on your photos section on your phone in case there are internet issues

@@XplorArjunno I'm am talking about your pass QR code, that stays the same for the whole trip. Some conductors check both your tickets and passes. Most others just check your tickets

Hi hi. I just downloaded the app today. Put in my pass. Do I activate it now? But im traveling in feb 2025. Im not moving forward now im afraid ill use a day in my 15 days globall pass. Or should i activate my pass nearer to my travel date. Wouldnt thta be too rushed?..

You can't use a day or lose a day. Up to the day of your first trip you can still change any trip day to another day if you want

I'm not sure I understand your situation... if the app doesn't show it maybe try to reset the app? It'a not a great app, one of the worst i have ever seen actually. But if you have the tickets in hand from the seat reservations you paid for, then you are all good to go

If i understand you.. Even you booked and pay a reservation, you need to add this trip on your Rail app. I guess the reservation that was made without the rail app, doesnt auto show on app.

@@makeupjunkie74 you should check more recent videos on Eurail info because they change quite often. But we bought reserved seats with the country/company of the trip we are taking. Go straight to their website and pay for your ticket there. This app is only for research and tracking purposes, you can buy anything on here

Yes as long as QR code is for your seat number assigned after you paid for reservations

You pay usually online when you secure the actual tickets / seat reservations... if you are local And at the station, then you can go in and pay in person, or in another city within the same country

Hi im planning to go to europe in December. Start from Zurich, Munich, Koln, Belgia and last is Netherlands. I plan to buy Eurail Pass. Already downloaded the app but i want to make sure. If the station i put for departure and arrival are there it means its covered by pass right? Thank you

The Eurail Pass works for all EU countries plus a few non EU countries like Switzerland... you should read the fine print on the pass to verify before you pay, double check on Bulgaria.

If it says seat reservations required and you have not paid in person or online, then you don't actually have a seat on that train yet. The app only works for seats on trains that does not require seat reservations. So either go online to pay for those seats, or go to a train station nearby if you are already in Europe, EU countires.

Trips that require seat reservations need to be paid at the train station. So for London I will go to the departing station as soon as i arrive to secure and pay for those tickets. But i suspect i can not pay for the seat reservations on other legs of my journey until I get to the new city or country...

Hi this is a great video, just one question When you book reservations on trains which i have done.. i now have the actual ticket but on the ticket it doesn’t show my interrail QR code or anything and i dont know how to access this to show the ticket inspectors if they ask for it? Do u know how to access it? Thanks :)

If you stop the video at 18:09, and look at that main screen, you can click on the yellow tab on the bottom that says 'Show Ticket' ... then the QR code will Come up and you can screen shot it to show your train conductor if they ask for it... most of the time they don't ask if you show them the actual ticket with your paid reservation

You can use Trainpal to book train tickets with discounts and no need to validate or other issues. Really useful.

How do you link the "trip" with each member of your group? Or do you have to do this for each person?

Well when you select a trip, you can select all the members of your family/folders at the same time... then that trip will show up when you look under each person's pass days

@@Pintitnana no you do not have to book everything before activation... you can book trains like 10 minutes before they arrive if there is room and you don't need to pay for seat reservations... BUT any long distance train that requires seat reservations I strongly suggest you book and pay as soon as possible AND when you pay online in the Eurail.com site, make sure you cell and email is listed so they can contact you if something changes

You can edit and cancel anytime on the app... non seat reservations trains are more local and won't have a train seat assigned to you, so it's whatever you get as you get on

Euro rail app only shows train schedules, doesn't do anything with your eurail pass... rail planner app actually keeps your pass on there after you register it and then allows you to select trains and generate non seat reservations required tickets. It really doesn't make sense why they have multiple apps but it is what it is

@@tanishkansal1955 yes it's ok... where you buy the pass and where you buy seat reservations is different... that's why it's so confusing. The pass is offered by 1 company and the trains are owned by different countries and sometimes multiple train companies within each country, and it's up to the individual companies whether they want to be a part of the pass or not...

For Eurostar reservations from London to Paris, when i first tried to do it online about 3 months ahead, it was not available at all on the Interail.comm site... and i read that i should go to the station as soon as i arrive at London. 2 weeks before we fly, we find out about the train strike in London and I tried to book online again. By then the site seemed to allow for seat reservations but it was all sold then. I quickly booked all my seat reservations for all the other trains in other countries throughout my trip and they were all fine. Check out my new update video after we came home from Europe
