@arthurfricchione8119 Happy new year Artie! Chris mentioned Martin worked hard on the math channel to do this with hscope. Let's us do some pico like scoping. It was a surprise that none of the other scopes could pull it off. I am more impressed with every feature. Keeps it real on 2 channels, kind of get to use the math as a third channel. The lesson I learned is that all math channels are not the sane! Take care Artie! Stay safe in this winter wonder land!

Very cool. I need to get out in the garage and start playing around with my scope for the practice like you do it. I'm gonna try this out on my 98 c1500. I get occasional misfire counts on cylinder#3(5.0 V8). No codes but I can feel the engine hiccup sometimes. I suspect an injector or poppet going bad. Would be a good time to run this test along with an RC, cam/crank corr, injector and ignition coil captures just to have em saved. Great job Eric👍

@MarcBchannel I was thinking alreadt this would be quick to find that elusive random misfire on gms. Usually i start with scanner, then smoke. Next random mis, I am going to incorporate this test after the scanner. Curious how this works on a v8. Let me know if you try it! Take care!

Thanks Eric! Mentioned my name in your video, 2 years ago ask Martin to make available this frequency Math channel in Hscope. He did it soon and has tuned fine. All the credit should go to Martin. Anyway This Method is very effective for Very intermittent misfires which is hard to identify which cylinder is responsible for.

@ravifixall You are welcome, my friend! The praise goes to you and Martin together. Chris told me Martin made it at your request and worked hard to tune it until it became what I just used. You brought the video to the hscope community. I intended to replicate it on my MicSig VATO, but the frequency math channel is for audio. As long as I have 1 scope that will do this, I am very happy, and the hs512 did it beautifully. Thanks to you and Martin both for this! I will be exploring the math channel with more earnest in the future! Thanks for the comment as well.🙏

Good vid Eric, interesting seeing that you only had luck with the hs512. About a year or two ago someone on the telegram group had seen this frequency method on another YT video (probably with pico) and requested this feature from Martin, about a week later the group was already testing the new frequency feature Martin quickly added.

@chrisingram7277 Thanks Chris! I watched Ravis video a while back and had it in mind to try on those little skip misfires. It is great for ignition issues and is going to be a tine saver on mechanical issues. Dodges and jeeps have, well questionable rockers and lifters. This will point you to the right one in no time. Ya , tge MicSig I thought fir certain woukd do it. The only frequency options are for audio. Still, being the curious one, I tried every setting under frequency. I couldn't get it to acknowledge the sync mark even. That was a bummer and the 1008 just didn't have the guts. Hscooe picks up the page gap and even zoomed in, those arcs had no definition. I told Erin today I'm going to quit calling the 512 a budget scope, it is more boutique than budget. I was surprised the Modis has no math channel also. That thing is amazing in many ways, but it was in the sane heap of scopes as the 1008C that couldn't! Take care and thanks for checking out something you knew already!😎

@@Backalleydiagnostics It's fun seeing it in use, I think we were all struggling in the beginning to pick a sampling rate that worked well, Martin had to fine tune the software a few times. It's a good thing you noted the rate you were using👍

@chrisingram7277 Next v6 or v8 will be interesting to see. Might be more crowded on the crank sensor if I'm thinking right. I only know 1 way to find out!

@GeorgeDunn-y7r Awesome! That is one product that I can honestly recommend 100%. I thought going in , the newer MicSig would do this with no problem, but no luck. Ravi has some great vids, alot of the features of hscope are fine-tuned or made available by Martin with input from Ravi and others that have us all in mind. The math channel was something I didn't use much, mainly because after everything ive thrown at a $95 scope, I would not be disappointed if it were its weak point. Turns out to be one of its strong points, among all the others! I've done a few cam&crank correlations with hscope, 2 channels at a time, and all 4 on the MicSig. Hscope, even having to switch between 2 channels, is much more defined. I'm glad you get to see for yourself. These Hs scopes might be budget, but with Hscope software, they are boutique! Take care and thanks for watching! I look forward to hearing you think!
