Excellent video! So nice to see people who take the time to explain all the details rather than videos who 'assume you know' all this stuff. This will be very helpful to me and tons of other folks. Keep it up!

Your method of the hard shell is so much easier to understand do for a newbie, also all your vids on monster clay are awesome, just curious if you could do painting vids or of the finished products?

Nice videos. Can this be done successfully without thi-vex? Thanks in advance.
@Cullens_Workshop3 жыл бұрын
You can it will just take a while, because the layers will be thin. Thivex just thickens the silicone so you don’t have to do as many thin layers.

Do you know of a more economical brush on type rubber ?
@Cullens_Workshop9 ай бұрын
Mold Max Stroke is one. It's a tin cure silicone, made by smooth-on as well. It's also measured out by weight so you'll want a scale for best results. But it's about half the price of a platinum silicone like rebound. theengineerguy.com/mold-max-stroke/

i'm pretty sure you can find it at most online fabric stores. www.fabric.com/buy/0450613/power-mesh-black. Out of convenience I get mine from engineer guy here in Atlanta when i'm buying silicone. theengineerguy.com/power-mesh/

Really enjoyed your vid - great coverage and very helpful. Can I ask what the durability has been like of Rebound 25 and do you have any experience with Mold Max 30? Thanks
@Cullens_Workshop2 жыл бұрын
So mold max is a pourable silicone and wouldn’t be ideal for a the first couple layers of a brush on application. It’s also tin cured compared to mold Star which is platinum cured. It’s still a great product, and very helpful in making poured molds. www.smooth-on.com/support/faq/184/

@@travelswithmytrauma yep some mold release would be a good idea. You may also want to seal it as well depending on how porous the statue is. Some construction folk will use smooth on products to recreate frie places, Ceiling Medallions, and other historical decorative pieces. the smooth on channel also has tons of videos on a lot of cool projects. www.youtube.com/@smoothon/videos
