The app I'm using is called Pro Metronome and its "rhythm trainer" feature. You have to pay a small amount to unlock the rhythm trainer plus "practice mode" which allows you to set the metronome to gradually increase in speed - super useful! (For example www.harptuesday.com/ep-185-rolled-chord-drills/ ) I've been happy with the app and it's definitely been worth the money to me (despite the rather unintuitive interface!) but I'd love to hear if you know of any free options! Pro Metronome app on the Google play store: play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.eumlab.android.prometronome And Apple app store: apps.apple.com/us/app/pro-metronome-tempo-beats/id477960671

Great timing. I started working on the whole pulse issue with my harp teacher 2 weeks ago.

I just wanted to say discovering this as a harp student - your channel is exactly what I’ve always wished for. You speak in depth and with excitement about questions I’ve always had but never asked!! I’m sure that these videos benefit so many people, no matter the skill level - thank you for creating this awesome resource!! As an aside, I wonder if you would ever feel comfortable talking about harp footwear? I’ve noticed you practice in socks - do you perform in them? I play jazz and find myself pedaling much faster in socks, but I’d feel a little silly walking onto stage with no shoes!

Hah, that's great to hear! Footwear - I perform in jazz dance shoes. You can see them in this video, for example: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mqXOi3qDh5mYjdE and this episode: www.harptuesday.com/harp-tuesday-ep-6/ I do know a few people who perform in socks, or even bare feet! But I love my jazz shoes :)

This is so good! And having fun with something that can be a chore. I haven't tried an app, just my old fashioned "tick-tocker". Thanks.

Essential topic - life's hurry (I write about myself personally) doesn't allow me to focus on training the timing. Recently I found myself in a case (Gregorian choir), where the melody has to follow the text sung. So it becomes a little more complicated, since just following the metronome is not enough - the word syllables are not the same at each repetition of the melody So I found your lesson helpful, since what u show is what I need to keep in mind Kudos and thank you Josh 😊
