@@christopherbareja996 not a chance. Rueben sandwich is so much better as a sandwich. Chicken sandwich is only good because of the fried chicken, you can do that minus the sandwich. Id argue bun and other things lower quality of fried chicken. The Rueben on the other hand has salty and umami from corned beef, has tangy and kinda vinegar sour from the sauerkraut, swiss cheese brings a nuttiness to it, then choose mustard of russian dressing on marbled rye. I mean it is the yin and yang of greatness and every part of it is integral for it to be good.

Im saying this a former manager at many delis and sub restaurants. Cuban is solid no doubt, but I want to sell you on something I bet you've never had. Take some honey ham, sliced how you like it. Lay some out like a bed, add a layer sliced provolone, fold that once to the size of the sandwich and drop it on a hot pan. Let it sizzle for a bit, flip it. You know you are nailing it when the ham is browning in parts on the cooked side. Have a good sub roll prepared with mayo and lettuce. Drop the hot ham and provolone on that, add white onions and sliced tomato. Just a dash of oregano to the top, close that and enjoy! I wasn't a fan of ham until I tried it with melted provolone and all the fix. Add yes sirs to your liking 😉 Big respect to NL for not dissing the grilled cheese. He is right, you can do fantastic things to them. Lately I've been melting cheddar on ciabattas with slices of roma tomato added after taking out of the toaster oven. Another favorite is melted mozzarella on thin focaccia with roma, basil leaves and a dash of Italian red oil and pesto.

In the final battle NL made right choice. The cubano is the better sandwich, because the sandwich as a whole is better than any of its parts. It's the combination of its ingredients that elevates it above any other sandwich. The falafel pita on the other hand is almost exclusively about the falafel. It's only because falafel is so damn good that the falafel pita ever stood a chance. But good falafel does not a sandwich make, the other ingredients are mere accessories to falafel's greatness. Considered as a sandwich, understood as the carefully put together balanced amalgum of ingredients, the cubano is clearly superior. Thanks for coming to by TED talk.

@Northernlion A Bocadillo is a Spanish sandwich. Typically, it's made out of Jamón Serrano (the Spanish equivalent of Parma ham) and with some Spanish hard cheese (similar to Parmesan cheese, but typically a little softer and less intense, especially the one you would put on a sandwich), on a Spanish baguette (Spain has some of the world's best bread btw). In short, it's normally as good as a sandwich gets... just supreme ingredients on a great bread. Also, super easy/great for bringing with you; just wrap it in some plastic foil, and it will stay fresh for a couple of days in room temperature.
