I remember installing Sounds of Skyrim for the first time. I was in a Embershard Mine and thought I could hear distant thunder or rainfall, but I thought "There's no way it's raining outside". Sure enough I stepped outside and it was a rainstorm. I have never felt so immersed in Skyrim as that little detail.

Eh, wouldn’t be my preferred style of play, silent protagonist is always better because you read the dialogue in your voice, not someone else’s. That’s why Fallout 4 felt different to lots of Fallout NV and Skyrim players. But hey, it’s your Skyrim, you do you 👍🏾

@@90snetworkproductions79 hence the "for those who" part of the comment. I am so glad someone else found the Phoenix compendium man. I use everything in that mod for my sounds. Though i might not install the music audio part, but everything else is amazing. It has a voice rework of many characters. My brain almost melted when I heard the Alduin sample. Also, the author of Phoenix compendium actually released three separate mods that aren't included in the compendium. They're the weapon sounds, horse step sounds, and a redone sound effect of a detection shout. Every other sound mod is included in the compendium. I may try combining Phoenix compendium and just adding the Ygdrassil music only with it. Edit: I actually was able to get Phoenix compendium and Yggdrassil music and sound fx to work. You select every sound and voice pack in Phoenix compendium except the Phoenix legacy music and menu UI sound fx. Then, install Yggdrassil and use their music and sound fx for menu UI. It was a match made in heaven I tell you. Never have I felt trekking through Skyrim at night be so intense until now. Also, Cathedral weathers really makes night dark AF to the point where I had to install a very immersive and convenieny mod called quick light to see at night. Edit 7/7/22: I have to say that I found a Skyrim SE music mod called Symphonic Soundtrack. My giving this summary doesn't give the mod justice, but it basically adds 6 hours at least of what I can only describe as Vanilla+ music all composed by the mod author. The entire mod music Playlist is on KZbin on his channel called Thomas Lack. It's some of the best music I've ever heard for this game and really brings a Vanilla+ soundtrack experience. Mix it with Phoenix compendium and you're set. Just make sure to add the ui sound effects for the Phoenix Compendium. I like it more than Yggdrasil now.

I was scrolling through nexus mods and I found this mod, I didn't think much of it because I already had an audio overhaul. But there were two videos going through the mod, first one was a person talking over the mod explaining what he likes about it, that's fine, but for an audio mod showcase I was hoping to listen to the audio to determine myself if I would like it. I go onto this video and not only does it start with exactly what I want, this video makes a point about how important audio is to the experience, and gives their recommendation to this mod. Safe to say, because of this video, I think it's time to try out the mod. Good stuff, it's not everyday you come across a well made video by someone you've never heard of before.

Hey! Im new to the channel and just got back into modded Skyrim after quite a while, Ive been watching many videos on which mods to get and have found that a lot of creators don't really do a job of selling the mods themselves or providing reasons why the mods are worth downloading and integrating into the game. But you have done an amazing job, not only explaining the mods, but showcasing their effects on the world and how it feels to use them. I dont typically get to excited about things like this, but after your "Ultra Next Gen game" and your lore video im just waiting to go home and download these to try out. Im going to be checking out all your other videos on Skyrim mods, and you've gained another subscriber, well done, this is really good work. Feels more like a documentary cinematic than a video on mods for an 11 year old game.

So, a few things: That intro was INNNNCREDIBLE! Production values felt higher than Marvel. I'm shocked no mention of horse overhaul sounds from this new mod from Satafinix. I'm surprised not to see Immersive Sound Compendium. Especially because my understanding is that Audio Overhaul for Skyrim is incompatible with most weather mods unless you do manual edits for the cell records. Is this not true? What about Sounds of Skyrim - it adds so many ambient and landscape sounds in that aren't covered in any of these other mods to my knowledge. Great video overall!!! Can't wait for your next one! (sorry for not having links to the mods I'm talking about, my comment kept getting deleted every time I tried to include them.

Most of these just sound like deepening and hard clipping, it actually makes it worse than vanilla, i.e. skeleton sound deepened doesn't really enhance anything, and then their walk is so loud that it makes sure immersion is shattered. On animals, mammoths get so deepened that theyre no longer capable of high pitched noises, elephants/mammoths do not sound like demons. Really gotta tiptoe around these mods.
