Using SNAPPING in Blender!

I remember having to do similar stuff to get snap to work in inventor. By far my favorite 3d cad software.

@The CG Essentials inventor is. Well I should say was. I haven't used it since 2012 because where I worked doing cnc programming we had specific programs we had to use depending on the machine and/or customer.

I quit blender for this exact reason because my builds and a bunch of lines on them 😂, I come back to fiddle around and then I see the snap feature at the top the whole god damn time and I feel so dumb 😂

In objects you can lock its position axis, it's not quick action though. But can we lock vertex axis?

I'm just learning Blender now after a long hiatus, but I used 3DS Max daily for work over a decade ago and I'm very familiar with snapping in 3d, but I'll be goddamned if I could get it work the way I wanted. I was just trying to drag multiple objects to another item's location, but instead of it using the first box's corner vertex (when I dragged the items from right by that vertex), and then snapping that to the corresponding corner vertex of a different box, it choose the center (the origin, presumably) of the first box, and snapped *that* to the corner of the target box. No setting option seemed to fix the behaviour, and I felt deflated when it didn't work :(
