It’s interesting how when you use snowgrave on regular enemies, they don’t just freeze like with the regular Ice attack. They literally just die. No freezing, no “ran away”. Just straight death.

I've looked thru the code of the snowgrave spell, there's a specific check for if Berdly is in the area, it doesn't check the route or anything because the game assumes you don't have snowgrave on the normal route (because you shouldn't LOL)

I'm no game developer, but would there not be a way to take every enemy picture and put it through a similar process. That way you basically do the work once and then apply it to all, similar to the running away animation.

@@RynKen I think that's probably how it works in the game. The only reason the bosses don't just turn to dust is because they're programmed to play a cutscene when defeated instead of a normal animation. Every character that doesn't get dusted by snowgrave also isn't frozen by iceshock, so it seems like those spells are just programmed to replace the fleeing animation with a unique one.

As someone who knows a bit of gamemaker, for those wondering why every enemy has a "death" animation, thats probably not an actual drawn-out animation. Gamemaker Studio has multiple sprite drawing functions for multiple uses, and one lets you draw only part of a larger sprite. Its likely that to save time, Toby coded a script that uses this to draw any dying enemy's sprite in these chunks, tint them red, then animate each piece as such, rather than have to store the animation frames for dying for EVERY character. Also, logically, why HAVE manually created death animations for everything when this goes totally unused? Including Chapter 1 enemies?

Actually I just noticed. normally in the weird route's Spamton Neo. when calling for noelle, Spamton Neo takes damage from kris, due to the blue numbers as each character's damage is indicated in their specific colour, (blue for Kris, purple for Susie, green for Ralsai and yellow for Noelle,) but with Noelle in the party, the damage numbers are yellow (during 12:00 )and, which is interesting as Noelle was never intended to be in your party at all.

apparently theres a second giga queen in giga queen fight that snowgrave targets. it handles the cutscene triggers and all that stuff snowgrave kills it which basically stops it from doing that and well, leads to a crash.

the snowgrave attack actually was never supposed to be used on anyone else other than berdly, so the devs didnt code it to attack where the enemy really is, also it crashes because the damage you do by punching with the robot and snowgrave damage are different i think, and the game crashes because you arent supposed to kill giga queen with normal damages
