Great Stuff! Godot C# resources/projects/tutorials in general are still so rare (e.g. try to find a C# demo in the asset store, there not even a filter and the keyword "c#" returns all kinds of assets) so I think you're doing the world a favor here. It's so performant and useful with NuGet & Libs/APIs but the entry barrier for use with Godot is quite high with the limited resources available. Widely underrated/underused imo

this tutorial is good, helped but cant continue to use Godot(will switch to unity and continue) if im using the GodotSteam c# binding does not contain/not the same method/event names and it becomes hard to follow. (the facepunch's steamwork does not work for current version of godot, godotsteam c# bindings works but at the cost of figuring out yourself everything without a doc) i will start using unity due to its compability ~ this message might appear for future users that are adventuring into godot steam c#.

@@FinePointCGI do you know how to add matchmaking in godot 4.0 or is it not possible yet? Thank you, and your welcome for the sub

So right now I'd suggest nakama or ofc if you are using steam then this tutorial series will have at least servers and lobby/basic gameplay. For match making you could implement it yourself if using steam and this framework just have search for the specific params your looking for and connect that way just hide it from the user.. However nakama is free if you host yourself and has a full matchmaking system and it's quite good..

Is it possible to use this to just connect players on steam, and then use godot networking for actual game logic?

how do I parse the avatar from steamworks into a godot Texture?
@MicahGoodhue Жыл бұрын
I went about it like this: Steamworks.Data.Image -> create new img with Image().SetData() and pass in the steam image data -> retrieve Texture2D with ImageTexture.CreateFromImage passing in the newly created image-> boom No idea if there is a better way to do this, but this worked for me just fine
