Hi Jesus! You could add in factory navigation after buying the Explorer but you do have to replace the whole screen in order to be able to do it. You’ll need to find a scrapped XLT with factory navigation or look into an aftermarket solution

Just use your phone through car play or android. I have the NAV its total crap compared to my car play options.

There seem to be only 3 audio sources: AM/FM, Sirius or Bluetooth. If you plug in something like an iPod into USB will that be recognized as an audio source? Thanks!

You're right about the audio sources! As you plug other devices in they'll show up. If you have a USB stick with MP3s it would show up as a source, similarly your connected phone would do the same!

Ford decided to scrap ambient lighting on the base/XLT trim of the vehicle. It's available as a standard option in the Limited trim level and above now for the 2021 model year

How do you use Android auto for maps but use the xm radio on the car? How do you change the chanel? I can't figure out how?

Under the audio tab on the Sync3 screen select Sirius xm as the source and tune to the station you want. Then relaunch android auto and you should be good to go

Can you confirm that android auto works wirelessly through Bluetooth without the cable? Is this true for both 2020 and 2021 models? I had never heard of this feature for Sync 3 and thought it was only a new Sync 4 feature?

Hey Jeshua! I haven't been able to play with a Sync4 system yet but for Sync3 Android Auto/Apple Car Play are only available when plugged in. Not sure if I misspoke during the video but from what I've read both will be wireless as of Sync4

With Biden president I am very nervous about spending $47k because I'm sure stupid lockdowns are coming soon, but I think in the next couple of weeks I will go ahead and buy the 2021 limited. Ill let you know when I get mine so stay tuned! I test drove them this past weekend. That massaging seat was nice but I can't afford all that haha!

@@jeshualee2711 Still waiting to see if we get into more lock downs up here as well. I'm in Ontario and they're taking a regional approach now so they won't lock down the whole province but different districts at a time. For the extras that you get in the Limited I'd say it's worth the price. Check to see what incentives you might be eligible for! X or A Plan pricing if you have an eligible friend/family member, military discounts and plain old negotiating always help

@@CarsWithSteve Oh I didn't know you were in Canada. Im guessing government overreach isn't so bad there concerning covid? Ford isn't giving very steep discounts on the 2021 year model yet but they came out with the new carbonized gray metallic color which looks awesome especially on the xlt sport appearance package. Unfortunately they don't offer on the Limited the grey wheels that are on the xlt sport appearance package so i will have order them separately or use aftermarket or ST blacked out wheels like you have.

It is interesting seeing the difference of opinions for vehicles in the segment, but for the value and performance you get the Explorer is a great option. What is a good method to clean this screen and can you buy a screen protector for it?

A microfiber cloth works great to remove fingerprints. If there are liquids/stains on it spray a bit of monitor cleaning spray (check a local computer store) will take it off There are some screen protectors out there, Amazon will probably be your best bet!

Need some help. We are interested in purchasing this vehicle but having to hardwire the iphone for maps is not good. I think there is a work around - connecting a bluetooth device in the usb and this is wireless to phone, so its a work around. Anyway thoughts on this?

Hey Steve have you ever noticed the light under the screen in the cubby below it at night? It’s constantly on and I cannot find a way to turn it off. Can you help me out?

That light should automatically turn off after 10 minutes! Try it out tonight.. lock the car, set a timer. Should turn off right at the 10 min mark

@@Nb4bama Haha that makes sense.. hmm.. Have you tried disabling ambient lighting? Settings --> Ambient Lighting then drag a color choice all the way to the bottom

Hey! It's pretty easy to get there! 1. On the bottom left of the screen is a button that says "Audio" click it 2. Click the button that says "Sources" 3. Select whether you want AM/FM/Sirius or Bluetooth

Does anyone else feel like SiriusXM must have paid off the vehicle manufacturers to drop the CD player as an optional source for music? Do I have SiriusXM, yes but do I still want the option to play a CD, again I say YES. Anybody under the age of 40 or even 50 says "well just rip them and put it all on a thumb drive". Duhhhh... what a pain in the a**. Who's with me on this?

Hmm interesting theory but I think it's just the natural evolution of technology. CD's are on their way out the door the same way VHS and cassette tapes are a dated technology. Plus one less component means cheaper manufacturing costs and one less part to worry about having to repair if it breaks down
