I just bought a 2021 Explorer XLT and no one showed me anything on this vehicle. I was driving a 2011 Mercedes GLK350 and never owned a ford before this. I am very grateful you went over the vehicle they way you did. It helped me understand what was going on with the vehicle. Thank you very much!

Why does my sync system not have the rear occupant alert? I have 3.4, and I do not have the alert option.
@CarsWithSteve
@CarsWithSteve 3 жыл бұрын
From my understanding, only certain vehicles have the rear occupant alert for the 2020 models. It looks like it should be standard across all 2021s though! We'll know for sure in the next few months as next years models start to hit dealership lots

Cars With Steve, I bought my 2021 Ford Explorer SUV on January 28th. Ive owned it a little over 9 months. And as of now in November, it has only 4700 miles. When should I change the oil. In January when it’s a year or sooner.
@CarsWithSteve
@CarsWithSteve 2 жыл бұрын
Depends on what you're using it for. Here's a breakdown: 7,500 - 10,000 miles (12,000 - 16,000km) for normal commuting, no extended idling 5,000 - 7,500 miles (8,000 - 12,000km) for extended idling, extended hot/cold operation 3,000 - 5,000 miles (4,800 - 8,000km) for max load/towing, extreme hot or cold operation Depending on what your summer was like you're almost due for an oil change - with maybe another 1,000 miles to spare if you want to hang off for a bit

Cars With Steve, I’m a senior citizen retiree. Most of the driving I do is locally. I live 50 miles from L.A. so the weather here isn’t as extreme as it is in the desert or in other parts of the country during the summer. I’ll be taking my Explorer in to the dealership this coming Monday for “The Works”, an oil change with filter, rotate the tires, top off the fluid reservoirs. Etc. I’ll be taking advantage of my Ford Pass for the first time. And then go on a trip to Las Vegas for the thanksgiving holiday. Thank you Steve and thank you for posting your KZbin video.

Just realized I don't have a video on factory nav for the 2021 Explorer so I'll add that to the list. In the mean time you can check out this video on the Explorer ST (different screen layout but same principal) to see how the navigation works. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gJ-UoJaCp9CJaK8

Why did my 4x4 deactivate? While I was in snow.
@CarsWithSteve
@CarsWithSteve 3 жыл бұрын
If you've got the 4WD of the Explorer the 4x4 should never deactivate because it's an intelligent 4WD - shifting power to the wheels as necessary.. Assuming yours is a 2021 with 4WD.. if it did deactivate 4x4 I'd schedule it in to have the shop look at it under a warranty claim!

Cars with Steve, I have the 2021 Ford Explorer XLT. When I plug in my phone into the port it doesn’t charge my phone. Is that an easy fix. I’ve been using the port in the rear passenger area I don’t want to take my XLT to the dealership yet until I get an answer back from you. Thank you.
@CarsWithSteve
@CarsWithSteve 3 жыл бұрын
Have you tried any of the other USB ports? It's odd that the port in the rear passenger area isn't charging but if your car is turned on and you get no charge indication at all it could be faulty wiring or port. Might need to schedule it in for service but it should be covered under the factory warranty
@handsomepackage7004
@handsomepackage7004 3 жыл бұрын
Steve it’s the drivers front port. I used the passenger rear port behind my seat to charge up my phone. It charged my cell phone well. I’ve had the vehicle since January and it’s only got 3, 500 miles. It should be under warranty when I take it in.
@CarsWithSteve

@@handsomepackage7004 Ohh assumed you were plugging it into the rear port. If it's not charging in that front port it sounds like there's something up with yours. Those ports should charge up the phone while plugged in

This model is not good in the 2nd seat.only 2 person can seat unlike 2020. Why they remove? This will be 6 seaters instead 7 seaters
@CarsWithSteve
@CarsWithSteve 3 жыл бұрын
Hey! The Explorer is actually available in a 6 or 7 seat configuration. The difference being what you choose to do with the 2nd row. There is an option for dual captain's chairs (like what's in this video) or a bench seat which would give you 3 seats in the middle row!

I can’t believe it’s an upgrade to get a bench seat? Other manufacturers it’s the cheaper option or at least a zero cost option smh 🤦‍♂️
@CarsWithSteve
@CarsWithSteve 2 жыл бұрын
All in how the seats are designed by each manufacturer. But the 40/20/40 would be pricier option than a 60/40 split. So in the Explorer a bolted down seat would cost way more than the tiny plastic console with 2 cup holders 🤷‍♂️
