Using the 600mm Karl Gerät Mortar - Call to Arms Ostfront | Scorched Earth DLC

They decided to add the 600mm Karl Gerät siege mortar into Gates of Hell Call to Arms Ostfront and I could not help myself to see what it was about. I have not seen anyone really using this thing online and I thought it would be nice to put together a guide on my experience with it. This unit is only available if you have the Scorched Earth DLC which I would recommend getting it as it seems like good value for only $10.

This channel focuses on combat flight simulators like DCS World and IL-2 Great Battles. Eagle Dynamics has made it easier than ever to learn DCS because the game is technically free. The game has the F-15, F-16, Su-27, Mig-29, Mig-21, Mig-19, Mig-15, F-86 Sabre, Jf-17, Mirage 2000, F-18 Hornet and F-14 Tomcat. There are soon other modules coming such as the Mig-23 and F-4. Lastly, there are helicopters like the Mi-24 Hind and AH-64 Apache.
The same is also true for IL-2 Great Battles. With Battle of Stalingrad, Battle of Kuban, Battle of Bodenplatte, Battle of Moscow and Battle of Normandy being released, there is an immense amount of variety covered. The Bf-109, Fw-190, P-51, Tempest, P-47, Mc.202, Stuka, Ju-88, He-111, and so on are all in the game. I focus on making videos to make that part accessible so you can dive into IL-2 Multiplayer.

This game is very good and I have been finding myself playing it a lot especially with people on our discord. I love flight sims but every once in a while I want a change of pace. If you like WWII or RTS games this is a seriously good game.

I got it on Steam but struggled through the in-game tutorial, also tried following along to some of the official and linked videos on their KZbin. What resources did you use to learn the game's systems?

The tutorial is horrible and almost ruined the game for two friends. But they ended up liking it once we actually played multiplayer

I forgot to include this in the video, I even had the footage. If you drive a BT-7 or two up to a Karl and hit the self-destruct button on the tanks, you will explode the Karl. Good way to take it out if you break through with some weaker vehicles.

You should take a look at men of war assault squad two, it’s basically the grandpa of this game. It lets you control individual units as well and single infantry men can take down tanks if they aren’t covered properly. It’s a great game with tons of depth highly recommend.

That is an accurate description. The added benefits of this game is you can direct control units like in a FPS mode and the armour / pen values are actually modeled. So it is not health bar based for the tanks.

It pretty much is as it's an RTT Relic invented the genre and it's a sim rare in the RTT/Sim space and if you like this they also make man of war.

one thing i find interesting is that during the siege of Sevastopol thor ( one of the 7 The Karl Gerät's never built ) was used more as a weapon to scare the enemy rather then to destroy targets due to the fact that it was not as accurate as other field guns also all 7 had their own names theses being Adam Odin Karl KG ll KG lll KG IV KG V KG VI 040 KG Vll 041

Just so you know Enigma, you can edit the amount of DP in a match but I’ve never seen it done in a serious competitive match

@@Enigma89 As i said, i have the DLC, but when i try to research the Gun it is still locked altho i have the previous researches. There is a hochkiss tank with rockets before and its a DLC, probably from the finish DLC, but i dont have that. Does it mean i need both DLC's to use the 60cm Gun in Dynamic Campaign??

There is some lore with the game's development. You need Gates of Hell which is the modern game. Then Call to Arms - Ostfront is built off that and fleshes out a lot more (like armour) and it's focus is on WWII.

@@GreenBlueWalkthrough Gates of Hell was supposed to be a standalone game. However, due to licensing issues they had to release it under the call to arms title as a DLC. It is made by an independent studio.

i try this gun , when the 600mm drop by their head its almost wipe 4 tank and 20 people , of course the screaming of those russian poor souls, Thor should removed from the game 😫😩😩
