with the bow and cup of that plank, it'll end up at 2" - 2.25" thick by the time you're done truing it up (planing it flat)

if you scroll back in my vids you’ll see times I only use hand tools. Layout and prep is all the same no matter how you do it. Machines are just faster at removing material. Truthfully I would rather use machines same way you’re using a smart phone and satellites in space to make the comment instead of hand writing a letter and sending in the mail
