What kind of glue use in perma seal

You got any recommendations. My head lights are to big to fit into an oven to heat them up and loosen the seal. And a heat gun didn't do anything. What else can I do without breaking the plastic?

You can make an oven out of a box and use a heat gun to heat it up. Not ideal but people do it. Not recommending it, just offering a solution :)

I did try that as well. I used a 20 gallon tin barrel drilled a hole in the top and put the gun on high temp for 30 min. Still nothing

I have the same problem and made a cardboard box that fits on top of the oven lid when it's open. It's not ideal but it works. If your oven turns off when the door is open, you'll have to find the interlock and push that in so the oven still runs.

Which model BMW light is this you're working on? I'm fixing to do my E60 xdrive.

E60 is tough. The back housing is very brittle. I would get new lenses and cut the original off.

once you were putting the headlight back together how did you form the plastic seal back to its normal position after prying it open with the flathead? wont creating such a large opening give moisture more of a chance to reach the inside of the headlight if the seal doesnt fit back together perfectly with the lense?

You put it back in the oven and work the plastic back into shape. Comes out just fine.

About to start a project where I'll be cutting open lights. Would butyl be a good choice for resealing cut headlights? I notice you did not use butyl but a solicone sealant.
