I definitely thought the wooden slab was eye catching. I also thought the bowtie repair pieces reminded me of stitching you'd see on Frankenstein's monster. My parents used to have a saying, 'it's so ugly, it's handsome!' What character your piece has. It's definitely a unique and quality project. 👌

🤣🤣 This will be a bar height desk and the slab came from a tree that blew down in a wind storm that I went and retrieved and cut into slabs about 2.5 years ago. It’s a cool piece and needs some extra work on some cracks and problem areas but I like it

There’s no doubt your skills are greater than mine (or more money in tools anyway) but why take away the character of this slab like that? It looks like a patched pair of jeans now. No way it wasn’t structurally sound enough before you turned it into quilt. Maybe a few, no reason for all.
