Using the Earthquake Victory Rear Tine Tiller on never before tilled ground

I bought one last year and it is an amazing tiller. It is a dirt chewning machine and has made my garden prep so much easier and faster. I highly recommend this tiller.

The salient issue is not how it performs out of the box, but how it hold out after much use.

Not trying to be critical but most folk try to till do deep on virgin ground as you call it! Mine has been a decent tiller you just have to expect a reasonable outcome by not trying to do to much at once! That’s why you have a depth gauge on all rear tine tillers!

I think I did a good job tilling this up for you. I may start posting some videos of me doing these jobs but raw footage. I don't know yet.

I wonder if swapping side on those tires would pull better.. Open V outward. Inward V would be better for water I’m thinking. Lemme know if ya try it..

The way the tires are set they sort of pull the machine forward but that's interesting and we may look at that. If the ground was previously tilled it would have pulled itself along easier but under my bed of shavings and straw was just solid ground. So far it's one of easier tillers we've used.

I have the same tiller. If anyone thinks about purchasing, first always make sure the tires are properly inflated (before every use) second I tilled a 40x40 virgin area for my garden and then not much after that the forward drive belt broke. I am awaiting belt to repair, but I hope this does not continue to be an issue.

That doesn't sound good! I sure hope thats not an issue for you in the future anymore once it's dealt with. Thankfully we haven't had that problem but its good to know. We've done quite a bit of tilling with this tiller so far and hadn't had any issues as of yet, but not every machine is identical even off the assembly line. Its certainly too bad when we get the ones that dont perform the way they should.

After tilling new ground that was hard and packed my tiller squalls and then stops forward motion. Is it a forward belt loose?

Hard compact ground I would go over it maybe three times or so. As for the belt, I am not sure? I'm not an expert by any means I only run the machine. If it is not running properly perhaps contact the manufacture or bring to a service station.

my tires go backwards when engaging forward bar and forwards pulling the small reverse handle, weird do y'all know how to fix??

Do you have your wheels set to the free position? If so, this maybe why. Change them to the tilling position

Change the cables that are connected to each lever.

So if you want the wheels to turn, the tines have to turn also. That means you have to muscle it around the yard.

Basically, yeah. It's not too bad, not super heavy but it needs to be lifted up for the tines to move as its pushed.

for the next time u use the tiller if the tires dig in you can try to swiffel it from side tot side this way you dont have to pul the tiller up ant youre back wont be sore the same swiffel methode is used on hard clay ground by steering it from left to right you shave of the clay, layer by layer

For my husband yeah, he has the arms to do that and does, for me I'm still building muscle on these noodle arms 💪 😅! Side to side would help me in trouble spots for sure 👍.

Please don’t reverse with tines going. Stop the tines first. One misstep and you have a serious foot injury.

With this model they spin upon reversing. I wish they didn't either! There are pros and cons to every machine and that would be one of them for this model in my opinion.

huge issue OF SAFE OPERATOR USEAGE , ALWAYS DISINGAGE TINES WHEN BACKING UP !!!!!!!

This model doesnt have that feature or else yes that would have been meantioned. Whenever possible of course disingage the tines when backing up. Unfortunately not all models have such features, so we need to do dangerous things carefully sometimes.
