In today's video I'll share with you how I use the GRID METHOD for drawing more accurately, and getting the overall proportions of the drawing / painting to be correct.
There are plenty of methods out there for drawing accurately.
If possible, try not to be 100% dependent on them, but also don't be afraid to use them whenever necessary.

Excellent result Liron, and one you should be very proud of. Ruth is also very photogenic! I only have my Apple iPad and use a grid drawn onto an acetate OHP sheet and tape it to my screen over a photo. I then draw the grid proportionally at a size I want onto a sheet of white paper. I then trace this onto watercolour paper. It’s a bit of a palaver but I get to preserve the grid and the drawing at least for another go if I want, by the time it’s on the watercolour paper I’ve got rid of any of that ‘stiff’ feeling of the grid drawing and don’t need to erase grid lines. I don’t find that my pencil lines erase cleanly leaving dark smears etc, not sure why, some WC papers are better than others for this? I’m using 100% cotton Arches.

Love, love, love your painting 😍! use actual grid paper to make my large drawings, then transfer on to the watercolor paper with carbon paper to avoid grid lines on painting.

He’s a legend!! He really inspired me to start my own manga too (currently half working on it - half working on improving my drawing skills, especially around figures). I think he’s a master of composition, his panels are incredible, especially the Black Swordsman, Golden Age and Conviction arcs (: Perhaps I should do a proper review of one of his spread pages!

Would it help to use a light-color water soluble pencil for drawing the grid on the paper? That way you could easily remove or dissolve it as you paint.

I use the grid method too. I would like to just be able to draw free hand. The grid drawing is getting easier so maybe one day I will.

Glad to see you use grids sometimes. One question Liron. I’m not bad at drawing faces just 'by eye' so to speak, but if I want a very good likeness, is a grid sometimes used with portraits, or does it detract from the painting somehow?
