My 8 yo daughter wanted to get into filmmaking like me and just so happened to be getting her first phone due to her mother and I splitting up across the country. Local T-MOBILE store had a promo and I was actually able to bring in my old iPhone 4 and her free line just got a free 12 Mini! Just a fun story to share as you referenced the 4 during the first couple minutes here. I look forward to watching the rest of your video and watching again with her. I just subscribed.

For me personally it is worth it! I have one, since it makes it easier for me to shooot more stable footage

If stabilization must be turned off... How do I get the footage to be stabilized? Great video, thanks!

You can stabilization a bit in post but ideally if you want butter smooth footage you use a gimbal.

Using the Beastcam app on the Mini renders slightly better results. The Max is gonna be better but i am so happy the mini can achieve close to it for less.

Hey Michael the video was great but the footage that you shot where you are talking in the room about the phone and lens looked very distorted in my phone (Realme 6 1080p). Whereas other footage that you shot with the iPhone 12 mini looked great. Could you please look why only that footage looked distorted. I could also send you screenshots of that footage if you want.

I really don't like the "max" versions of iPhones because they are so damn bulky in your pocket, BUT, what with the Pro Max 12, I am tempted as buying it as just another camera! (Besides, one cannot have too many cameras, can one? :0) )

Hello i have been filming since 1974 8mm VHS big honken cameras on the shoulder stuff then Hi 8 till the Iphone which i owen a SE 2020 and its not what you film but IMHO how you film it and it took me forever only because until IPHONES got better iam still a amature but at 65 years old still wanting to learning the basics

Not sure what type of lens you have but any extra distance, spacing, or optics added will change the quality you get.

iPhone’s video camera has always looked stupid. Not even these lenses can help it. But adding DOF will make it look much better. So bigger lenses.

Hi, I’m shooting with my iPhone 12, beastgrip pro and the anamorphic 1.33x lense. I’m using NDs, 24fps and the 180 degree rule...but somehow my footage always comes out jittery/stuttery....especially on panning movements. Any ideas? Cheers
