Hi! Thank you for a easy to follow video. I am currently looking at the HX stomp and going from a large analogue pedal-board to a digital set up to give myself better control over my tone when playing live. The guitarist in my band feels that if one person "goes digital" then everyone should do it. But if you can split the signal and actually use an on-stage amp as a monitor, wouldn't that solve the problem with stage-monitoring (not using in-ear)? Please give your opinion on this!

Yes you can split the signal like I show in this video :D just add the FX loop send RIGHT BEFORE the Cabinet block and you'll be good to go

Hey Zack amazing very Petrucci-like tones! Question: which amp did you use on the clean patch? and for crunch and rhythm did you keep the Cali412 settings the same as the clean? thank you!

Hey man! Unfortunately I no longer own the HX stomp so I don't know the specifics of what I used anymore. Whatever you see in the video is what I had. But if I pick one up again in the future I'll see if I can follow up

Awesome tone man ! what is the purpose of the send block, i have buy a Stomp XL and want to integrate it to my board to run wih my Two Rock Traditionnal Clean but i can't choose the best way to use it ! do you use the send block to send in the power amp section of the back line amp or in front ? sorry but i'm new to the digital world ! Thanks

Yes I use the Send so I can split my signal WITHOUT a cab block to a real power amp and cabinet. And then my OUTPUT gets the cab block.

1st comment!! Woot woot!!!! I love my helix using it with a powerstage200 to a meda 2x12 cab. But recently have been thinking of getting a tube amp tho

In terms of a tube amp, what would you be looking for it to achieve? I think the most important factor when it comes to buying a new amp is to figure out what you feel you are currently lacking, and then try to find an amp the best fixes that problem. Do you plan on keeping the Helix for the effects?

@@ZackSeifMusic im looking at engl fireball 25, evh 5150 iii stealth, or revv g20. Gonna try to use the helix as channel switcher and modulation effects

@@12Jsilva my vote is for the Stealth or Revv as both of those have MIDI which will allow you to change channels more easily with the helix, since MIDI commands are more powerful than quarter inch relay channel switching. You also be able to toggle amp channels and multiple effects at the same time that way.

@@ZackSeifMusic nice! Thanks for the input. Do you think i would be able to put like an od and noise gate from hx thru the input of the amp using 4cm?

@@12Jsilva yeah you can put any Fx before or after with 4 cable method!

Hello ! I noticed a slight difference in the sound on my hx stomp. When played through the headphone output, the sound is more high-pitched, detailed and transparent than when played through the stomp L and R audio outputs with studio monitors / live. Headphone output provides more detailed sound. Maybe this is done on purpose? anyone have a trouble like me ?

That's because every sound system is tuned differently based on the room you're in. You can compensate by using the Global EQ 😄

Headphones are a closed system. So you hear every detail. Once you're using a farther sound system the sound bounces off your room and has different sized speakers that reproduce frequencies differently.
