A pretty killer little package - sure its a bit more limited than full size helix, but I think this is actually the perfect model for my needs. I already have some nice overdrive/fuzz pedals (which tbh I've always thought were the weakest - or at least most digital sounding parts of the Helix effects anyway) so best of both worlds if I used this to replace modulations, delays, reverb and amp/cab sims into a single unit.
@squarefrog6 жыл бұрын
Whoever is responsible for working out the limitations of the Helix line, is doing a really great job. The LT vs the Full helix is a good compromise. And the LT to this is great. Tiny foot print makes it compatible with any pedalboard. With midi switching you can do whatever you want.

One thing that would help with moving up and down preset banks is to program the unit for either of these: 1) Give footswitches secondary functions if depressed for an extended period of at least one or two seconds. On preset mode, depressing any of the footswitches would change the mode to bank navigation and footswitch 1 and 2 will be for up and down while footswitch 3 takes it out of bank nav mode and back to preset selection on the selected bank. 2) Give the combination of simultaneous footswitch presses secondary functions. On preset mode, depressing footswitches 1 and 2 bank up and footswitches 2 and 3 bank down. #2 would be faster.

Whats the best way to plug a line level synth input into the Line6 pedals. I'm looking for more hands on tweakability so I'd probably go for the LT. Or I might go for a HX effects over this for the extra clarity of the interface with the multiple screens. The m13 seems very hands on.

Really nice piece of device. I was a bit sceptical about it at first but once hooked up my guitar and after playing with the simulations, cabs, modulations etc for a while I was stunned. This sounds beutiful both with the amp (Marshall DSL in my case; 4 cable method) and alone with just headphones plugged in (it is quite easy to get Mesa Rectifier sound which with some stereo reverb/delay sounds awesome). One needs to get used to the limited number of knobs and footswitches but still it is workable. The cons may be up to six blocks which may turn too few for some (especially when you include your preamp via 4 cable method or IR which also occupy the slots)

Talking about dynamics on modelling being better now, I recently got a Line 6 Pod HD 500x and was really impressed by the ac30 on it because I could set it to be at that perfect level that can be totally clean if I'm gentle and ACDC gain if I hit it hard. To be honest it sounded much more like my beloved Laney VC30 (that I sadly sold) than a Vox AC30. More of that upper mid scratch to it.

So I'm thinking about going HX Stomp as my first dive into REAL modeling and stuff. No, it can't do all the crazy I/O that other models can, but like you said, that's why the other models exist. Also, don't forget that the vast majority of guitar players still use "analog" rigs (guitars, some pedals, and an amp or two). Yeah you can do effects loops combined with sending to the front of the amp, but this is already miles ahead of the traditional setup, I don't think anyone is going to have a problem with more than the 2 options we currently have!
