I appreciate the UI video for the RAV file hub. It cleared many of my questions. I liked it so much that I became your 800th subscriber. One thing I haven't heard you mention was the 4 year warranty you can get on Amazon. Which is what solid me on the file hub. I've had a couple of power banks that have failed and to have a 4 year warranty on top of all it's other uses is definitely worth the $40 to $50. Thanks again.

It’s going to be in the manual. Depends on how you have configured it. It should be the ip address of the device.

Figure out what the address is of the device and then visit that page. It will probably be the gateway in your network settings.

Google is going to know nothing about your device. When you are connected to it, look in the network settings to see what you default gateway or router address is. That’s the url to use in the browser.

Can you edit PDFs/doc files on a flash drive via this device? Like opening up a pdf file through it, editing it via something like PDFexpert without having to save it locally to your ipad? Or would you have to transfer it to the ipad, edit, then move it back to your flash drive?

If you move it to a place that pdfexpert can see it, yes that should be easy. If you want it to stay on the flash drive then the important question is if pdfexpert supports smb drives.

I just came back from holiday. Using this combination of filehub and ssd was a big benefit for backup and organize all photos from different devices of our Family members. Finaly I copied and imported every photo to Lightroom Mobile and could do some editing in the road. Thanks a lot for your videos! Next I have to findout is if it is possible and how are the settings to use the filehub as wlan network source in Lumafusion. I think it should work but I have a permission problem to access the files.

Hmmm. I think your best bet is to select the images then open them in the Dropbox app using the share sheet. Does that make sense?

All the UIs work with all the versions of the product. As well as with some of the HooToo products since it’s the same company.

Matt thank you for your advice but no in addition I would want to transfer files from my PC to the ipad so that I can use procreate with them at least that would be desirable. What is the webpage for customization of ravpower?

What is major advantage of this device over the WD3 when dealing with Ipad Pro and external HD SDcard laptop ? Do these all require disconnected ipad pro from your normal WiFi or can it be used automatically and then after use have the ipad automatically go back to it normal wifi connection ?

Hi Ken. It looks like you already watched the video where I intro the newer device. The big difference is the 5GHz WiFi connection. In the video I go through how much faster it is to transfer files back and forth. As files, like videos, get bigger this increase in bandwidth will become more and more important. Some say they can afford the time but I find on that slower connection I simply forget what I was doing...I lose the inspiration. Hope that clarifies things

Oh and if all the devices connect to the filehub you can share files on a hd between all of them. You could create an ad hoc network from many laptops but that’s a bit more technical. This makes it easier.

@@technovangelist would me getting a wireless HD or SSD be a better solution than the RavPower especially if I do not use SD cards or is it the same thing with trying on my ipad pro dealing with 2 different WiFi networks. Typically at my age I am opting or ease of use/convenience over price but still unsure of performance of 1TB ipad pro vs any of the other storage sizes and thus my questions. Thank you.

I don't know how those wireless HD or SSDs work. I don't know if they include the bridging logic and multiple network interfaces. If you are only considering this to allow you to save on ipad costs, I think you should spend the money on the bigger iPad. These tools are amazing, but it's far more convenient to have the stuff local on the ipad.

Hmmm, haven't seen a DVD in a few years. Don't they typically require some software to read the drives? If so it probably won't work. If the DVD can be read without any software, then it might work. But it's been so long since I tried anything like that. If you try it, let us know here in the comments.

Yes. Whether or not you have access to them from the ravpower app or a third party app depends on the raw format

On another note, I wonder if you know a solution, app or hardware, that I can use (for my daughter's exploration) to connect a guitar and mic to the iPad - and NOT end up with a mixed stereo track that won't allow for easy editing of the inputs separately?

Matt, I believe I read some review on Amazon that this RAVPower does not support ExFAT format drives. Any comment on this?

So I had to look around for the answer to this one. The WD03 (FileHub Plus) supports ntfs, fat16, and fat32. The newer WD007 (FileHub) supports ntfs, fat32, and exfat. All that is according to the manual. I can’t remember what format I am using but can look tomorrow.

Sorry went to my wife’s company party and didn’t see the comment til just now. I assume you found it on the App Store and that it works with all versions. But they are not identical in features. There are some config things you can only do in the older app.

Who is your target audience for these videos as certainly it is not beginners as you go way to fast and do not show everything because you seem to be assuming prior knowledge and everyone is as experienced as you. I know I am not alone as I have already seen similar comments..It would be great if you could slow down and show all the steps for slow folk like me.

I like your video but if you want to get a ridiculous amount of viewers show us how to back up iOS (illustration app) Procreate pro. files into an external hard drive using a RavPower device. I guarantee you will never see as many hits and comments on your page & thank you in advance.
