Using the TNFD LEAP process to tackle deforestation

At Climate Week NYC 2023, the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) launched a final set of disclosure recommendations and guidance for organisations to report and act on evolving nature-related dependencies, impacts, risks and opportunities.
As an official piloting organisation of the TNFD framework, Global Canopy has worked with the TNFD, Frontierra, Grupo Sura, and JGP Asset Management to to better understand their nature-related risks and opportunities - with a focus on deforestation.
During this event, financial institutions shared their experience piloting the TNFD framework and specifically how to assess deforestation in their investments using the TNFD LEAP process, as well as the technical tools available to carry out the assessments.
