Well, this is the Stoddard Hill Farm Railway. We still lack the convenience of a tractor on the MLBK. Not that I'm not looking for one, but I do have some financial matters to tend to first. Retiring the debt brought on by the Ossipee Central acquisition and the purchase of new rail being at the top of that list.

Orange and black, Milwaukee Road freight colors. Years ago along the U.P. main in Nebraska they put down geocarpet, a thick coating of black top, ballast and finally concrete ties. I get used papermachine felts from the mill where I work and use them as geocarpet under my driveway after first using a walk behind compactor like the one you're using. Great roadbed tute, liked it much!

Hey Aaron, you mentioned that the Geotex fabric was not made to prevent plant growth. So would a layer of black plastic make a difference??
@MillBrookRailroad11 ай бұрын
The job of the geotextile is not merely to spread out the weight of the ballast and track, but to provide drainage while it's doing it. Plastic sheet doesn't allow for drainage. The three most important things in railway track construction are drainage, drainage, and drainage.
