Try a #8 x-rap works good like that. They do this out in the state of Washington for deep smallies.

I did this in lake Washington when I was a kid. But more of a classic Carolina rig style

I used to do something like this at CG. I used super slow sinking iWaver 60, and 2-3 feet up I add a 1/8th oz splitshot. Some thing, let it sink, whip it, let it rest, whip it. A lot of times they got it on the fall, but if I made it to the bottom, this was always good for a bite. I’m going to try this out here in NC.

Try the deep tracer rig on shad crank similar concept but keeps it off the bottom better. Also you can swim it similar to drop swimming a crank. Different look then a deep diving crank or a soft plastic.

Have you guys noticed any line nicks or line failure since the line may be rubbing the bottom? And if so does upping the line test help or probably a line that’s better at abrasion?

Thank you. Will use it for smallies, lake trout and walleye. Quick question: you said 18inch leader but it did look more like 30inch unless you have tiny arms!...Could you confirm the length of your leader?

Can you show how you'd cast and retrieve that technique? The way he's using it would be illegal in a tournament. That would be considered trolling
@thehookuptackle_usa2 жыл бұрын
You can cast it. You can jerk it. You can drag it. However you want to fish it.
@gstixfishing97462 жыл бұрын
Just like a Carolina rig… then jerk it
@MrPhoenix18002 жыл бұрын
You could just peg a egg sinker not sure if that would move but worth a try to not have to have extra stuff in the box if it works.
@gstixfishing97462 жыл бұрын
Egg sinker plus bobber stops = 2 items… Whip sinker = 1 item… definitely less stuff in the box with that
@thehookuptackle_usa2 жыл бұрын
Plus I know it doesn't seem like much, but the design of the whip sinker prevents 99% of tangles that will absolutely happen with other style weights; especially when you jerk it.
@MrPhoenix18002 жыл бұрын
True didn’t think of the line twist. Gstix I was bringing that up as if you already carried egg sinkers and pegs only. Either way it’s a very interesting idea thanks for the video on how to fish it.
