Personally, I'd want the audio to come into the camera with the recording on the transmitters as backup. I wish you thought about outputting timecode via the USB port while having the audio into the microphone jack. That way I'd use the recording from the transmitters only if there's a dropout. This is a very good product. But it stills needs to mature just a little bit more.

Hey Rode, will time code still work if I plug it via a rode mini-jack to XLR adaptor to input 1 or 2 on the fx3 top handle?

This guide describes two methods- in one, it works as you describe, and one where it doesn't.

so in mode 1 with the mini jack can I choose if the 2 audio is merged to one track or I chose the audio track that want to be recorded in camera? Will it be possible in the feature that usb-c is used for time code to a bcc on fx6 and mini jack will have to different audio tracks to be recorded in camera?@@rodemic

So when using the second method through BNC cable in timecode mode 5, we cannot monitor the audio, right? Among the 5 modes, mode 1 is the only for monitoring audio from transmitter, is that true?

Hey there Leo, timecode mode 5 won't allow you to monitor your audio. It's made for jamsyncing, where you just output timecode for a short time to sync your sources, and then you can switch to another mode. If you're looking for a mode where you can monitor your audio while also transmitting timecode via USB, you can use mode 4.

@@connorcolebrook9800 Also, Timecode isn't usually the same as SDI? It is BNC connector which looks similar or the same but I don't belive you will get a timecode out on an SDI. So if you are trying SDI to timecode to jam sync that probably won't work. Have you tried a "timecode out" source to feed the multiport into the camera? either TC out of a camera that has it or something like tentacle sync with the proper cable? I am planing on updating my camera in the next day or two and can let you know if it works for me.

It won't, because that camera won't support audio input via USB-C.

RODE can you PLEASE give us a TimeCode Mode 6. What would be most useful is: Transmitter 1 to Left Channel / Transmitter 2 to Right Channel / TimeCode to USB Left and Right Channels. This makes the most sense and should be accomplished via firmware. The idea that when I use timecode I can only get the SUMMED Transmitter 1 and Transmitter 2 audio is crazy. PLEASE, please. Thanks.

Hey there- thanks for getting in touch @leeaxon6266! The best way to do this would be to right click on the audio clip in Premiere Pro, click "audio gain", set it to "Normalise Max Peak to:" and then set that to "0"db, and then you should be good! Glad you're getting good use out of your Wireless PRO!

@@rodemic Just to clarify, i'm asking if the Rode Wireless Pro will work with the Tentacle Sync Cable on the FX3/FX6. Tentacle has a 3.5mm to Micro USB cable (Tentacle Sync 3.5mm TRS to Multi Interface Timecode Cable), and I was wondering if that will work instead of using Micro USB to BNC, and BNC to 3.5mm as described in this video.

Is it me? or do all these guides say to use Resolve in step 2? What if we just have Premiere?

Hey there @The500Cuts, that's a good question. While Premiere Pro is a powerful editing tool, it doesn't natively support this specific method of syncing using timecode directly in the same way DaVinci Resolve does, at this time. That's why we recommend that if you'd like to use timecode in this way, the easiest method would be to use the free version of DaVinci Resolve to sync your audio, and keep working in Premiere Pro as you normally do.

To your question about accessing your recordings- simply put your units inside the charge case, plug the case into your computer, and drag and drop the files.
