Using TSE Frame to unleash the potential of your TS-E lens

TSE FRAME brings a parallax-free solution for TS-E 17mm and 24mm II lens. It allows you to fix the lens directly to the tripod and shift the camera body, as same as how those professional technical cameras cooperate with their sliding back. Such shifted images can be seamlessly stitched to form an extended view, without any post-production intervention or software correction, because the body shift doesn't change the perspective. A 36x24mm FF camera will get 250% the field of view and file size. Old shift lenses shift then rotate every 30 degrees to each of the hour marks on the clock face. Actually you can shoot each of these, you essentially have a stitched pano result the size of a 645 image.

While doing Diagonal Shift Stitching, when you rotate the camera/Lens align the it horizontally (0:37), does it click/lock at one of these preset positions?

Sorry I don't get it. Why couldn't I do the same shifting and stitching by fixing the tripod to the camera and moving the lens instead?

You can do it by 30 and 60 degrees.

Because if you move the lens, you moved your lens pupil, the light entry point and that will caused parallax error, especially if you have foreground subject to stitch. Rogeti bracket allows you to move your camera sensor while keeping your lens pupil intact and that's the difference. Hope that helps.

Because all the lenses are in the fore part of the shift lens, and the back part which attached to the camera body is barely an empty tube. That is to say, when you move the fore part of the shift lens, you are moving the lenses, that way you are changing the perspective.

since the body moves and not the lens, why is it only available for T/S lenses?

Only TS-E lenses mounted on a camera can be moved. Normal lenses are not able to do it.

Don't buy this for shift movements. I measured the weight of the back of the camera and it is 1.5kg. And I couldn't turn that little shift screw to raise the die. Can you imagine the load applied to the connection between the worm screw and the lens body? This mechanism is designed to move the weight of the front lenses only. The lens will quickly become loose. On paper It was smooth, but they forgot about the ravines
