We use Videoscribe to create our whiteboard videos, and it's an excellent tool. We don't use the clip art gallery within the program. Instead our cartoonists create custom cartoon images in SVG format which work really well with the Videoscribe software. It didn't take them long to get the hang of it, but beware of a glitch where the hand draws the outer border of a line before filling it in, rather than just drawing the line. You have to adjust the line thickness to prevent this problem occurring.

It is because you are changing your brushes. You need to have your brush set to uniform and not taper the ends and then it will draw it as you draw. I use Illustrator so not sure if the settings are the same if you are using another program but just try using a standard brush.

GIMP is free and works on Mac, Windows, & Linux and will allow you to draw and export as SVG.

I'm saving illustrator drawings - almost all pencil strokes at 1pt thickness, as svg files. When I import them into videoscribe, sometimes the line thickness increases after the drawing animation completes. It doesn't always happen, it is unpredictable and it's making it difficult to work with videoscribe. Have you heard of this before? Are there any fixes? The videoscribe forums are no help in this matter.

Vladimir, sorry for the late reply, but yes you can add static images without having them drawn. Just add in the image and de-select the drawing feature. You may have figured it out already, but I'll try and post a quick video.

You should mention in your video that Scribe doesn't offer partial refunds after they charge you. For example, if you sign for the annual membership and decide not to use their service any longer and request a refund for the remaining time, they will not provide a partial refund for the unused time. People should know this risk when doing business with this company. I'm not saying it anything about taking someones money a full-year in advance and offering any partial refund for unused time. It is just something people should know about this service.

Hi, I downloaded the free trial of videoscribe for pc. I tried to animated some of my drawings using svg format, but the videoscribe didnt generated the picture, they only appear complete in the screen from the beggining. Is this beauase is the trial version or I did something wrong? thanks

It should have nothing to do with it being a trial version. Are you certain the image file was SVG and if so, how did you create the image?

Yes, I draw the image in photoshop exported as jpeg an reopened in ilustrator and then exported as svg. Kind of messy, but didnt see the svg in photoshop or mischief( wich is the program I use for draw)

Vinit, I record the audio separately and then add the audio clip to the video. I change the timing of each slide so that it syncs well with the timing of the voiceover.

Nice program but not exactly cheap for a simple program that just draws on an image. Over 600 bucks to buy it outright vs a monthly amount. Be nice if they could let you buy it over a period of time or maybe lease it and use some of the lease cost to towards buying the program. Is there a more in depth review of this software.. so far it seems quite limited

The content is good, and useful. However... (the below is not intended as a slam to you, but rather feedback to help your next video be a better one) 1. GET A SCRIPT! There are far too many places in this video where you say something like, "I'll do that right there." and never tell or show us what it is you're doing. Very frustrating. 2. STOP TSKING YOUR TONGUE. Making that "kissy sound" with your tongue detracts significantly from your effectiveness. Sounds very amateurish. 3. EDIT YOUR VIDEO. Why do you make us sit through all your UMs and AHs and other times you're trying to figure out what to say? It would also be much better to zoom in on the areas with small print when you are clicking or making selections. An hour spent with your video editor can fix this. If you're going to take the effort to make a useful video like this, why not take a bit more effort to make it a better one?
