Using WD-40 contact cleaner to fix guitar jack [guitar maintenance]

I got this guitar from a friend. It has some issues because it wasn't being used and wasn't getting proper care. I'm attempting to fix some of the issues. So this is kind of an experiment for me because I'm trying to find out what works and what doesn't work.
