This is a fantastic lesson . I had a lesson like this many years ago from John Cook and it improved my scores so much. Practice and getting to know your distances is key. This is with 1 wedge. If you carry 3 or 4 wedges you have so many more shots available to you.

Morning Matt, this area for me is vital, and when I get to it I feel like I am at a firing squad 😢especially shorter say 35 to 50 yards. I'm not a Newby, but have developed in my swing a pull inwards with my right arm, I know when I'm doing it, can't stop result shank. I hope this drill will help ❤

Ok love it ,is the swing an arm swing or shoulder swing, but not a start with the lower body swing as distance is not as important could you tell us what you’re feel is on the downswing many thanks.

One of my biggest struggles is getting any kind of separation of hip and shoulder rotation. Mainly because the space between them is effectively an amorphous blob of bangers, bacon and beer. 😂😂

Great tips Matt. Any chance looking at getting good contact with 4 and 5 irons. Tend to struggle getting them off the ground and not duffing them. Cheers.

Id say this is the single most important tip for any golfer. I hit twenty to fifty 60-80 yard shots every day and it's the main reason I've been able to keep my handicap down for the past fifteen years without doing much else. According to Tom Watson, the first thing Byron Nelson asked him to do when he agreed to jelp him with his swing, was to watch him hit partial wedge shots. He told Tom that they were the basis for the full swing.

I use a sleeve of golf balls instead of the phone..too expensive if I miss ...😂 seriously, wherever I get a case of the shanks I do this and fixes me quick..

Yet using the 1-2-3 method, it is a dayly quest to feel the strength, which I swing with. Tempo is number two in dialing in the lengths, while number one is the rythm. Problem with the rythm is that it changes from full swing to half shots and half shots become too sloppy and messed up leaking the power. Then your pivot changes and arms or even worse hands take over.
