Extremely helpful video. Great instructions with lots of meat and potatoes. Some just talk to much...but you walk us through exceptionally well!

A big ah ha moment for me here. Have been caught in the classical grip for a while and found it slows me down when trying legato.Will try this.Have you any small tweaks regarding descending lines over the 6 strings with the pinky leading?My pinky tends to curl too much and is inconsistent when trying these,but i have no problems when ascending the same lines.Thanks for these great vids will check your course out.

I realize I think I was forcing the perpendicular hand position sometimes
@carl_anderson93153 жыл бұрын
Satrini and EVH use that position almost all the time.

Thanks for this, Mike. Just a quick suggestion, it would be more convenient for us if we didn’t have to continuously enter our name and e-mail every time we request to view one of your videos. One sign-up should be sufficient. Just some feedback from a user! Thanks again.

This is how I’ve always played. Probably even a little more slanted. I see videos of people playing with perfectly perpendicular fingers and I can’t understand why they do that.

What in the fresh hell is up with John's index finger (6:44)? It's almost completely on its side half the time. I'm a bass player so I haven't studied him closely (love DT though), so I've never noticed this quirk in his technique. Is this a thing that some guitar players do? I play a 6 string fan-fretted bass and I REALLY struggle with finger positioning on the low frets on the low strings. I wonder if this technique would help, but it looks bizarre.

Looks like an rgt42. I think I have the same exact one, but without the active pups or actual fr trem.
