I keep hearing people making a distinction between "slow practice" and what you call "threshold of hand synchronization". I always thought everyone understood that's what slow practice meant. After all, why would you practice at a speed that you've already mastered? 😅

keep in mind that sometimes it's a issue in the playability of the guitar and not your fault

You can’t outside pick? That’s too bad. Try it you will be surprised how much better you will get. Not that you’re not good…..just to help you get better.

A tiny tip I just noticed for boney fingers. When your index finger cant quite squeeze a string or two for the full bar, you can kinda push or pull or finger back and forth. Itll feel like your trying to roll/ a pencil or straw up and down your fingers (like 🤌 -🫰) really fast but with the guitar neck/strings. Hope this helps 🤷♂️

Incredible video!! Thanks a bunch for those *way more than seven* advice. I do have a question on 2 points though: both on having the other fingers of the picking hand loose and on having a 30 degree angle, some other good guitarists have various advice. Picking at an angle produces a certain sound, and I feel way better with my fingers not in a fist. So, are these things I really have to change or can it also depend on your personal style?

I’ve been learning fingerstyle tabs on a steel string since I was 13, but I had no idea that playing closer to the frets would make it so much easier. I’ve been just powering through the thumb pain for 6 years🥲 I’m excited to not destroy my wrist every time I play. Thank you for this advice

I'm only after dexterity and finesse, not speed. A good round tone from the plectrum, and that's it really. Exploring chords and snd song structures, riff snd rhythm is more fun and satisfying, for me.

Reminds me of the "Where there is a will there is an A" (college focus motivator lectures) ...one thing that always stuck with me was Practice does not make you better...[you could practice the wrong thing a million times and it will still be wrong.] Perfect practice makes you better. Whatever you do aim for perfection slowly. Once you have perfected your goal you only review and your study time is reduced to half. Great vid! Im not sold on the faster playing though...it does sound cool and it is fun to play but for me its all about that one slow note that you can make anyones heart cry and yes it may come inbetween many fast notes. But i digress...great vid! 🤘😔🎸

Why was the guitar even in the video? He barely touched it!! Lol. Alot of good advice that I happen to agree with but where was the action to back up those words??
@neoclassicalfanatic841628 күн бұрын
The speed of takayoshi's technique is driven by the wrist not the fingers,the fingers just change the angle,but the fast movement and most of the work is done by the wrist.People tend to misinterpret his picking.
@neoclassicalfanatic841628 күн бұрын
People just don't realize that he is not picking exclusively from the fingers. He is 100% using his wrist ALL THE TIME in conjunction with the finger movement to change the pick's angle. But he does it in a way that makes his wrist movement not obvious
