USMC AMPHIBIOUS & AIRBORNE INVASION OF CHINESE ISLAND!

I got the helicopter landings to work and wanted to show it off in this amphibious USMC assault on a fortified Chinese island! More to come.

it is fun to find ways to use helicopters for combat. (edit) if you can do a Vietnam war airborne scenario then same with an American or Soviet Afganistan war scenario.

Most likely Mandarin, or it should be, at least. Cantonese is primarily spoken in Hong Kong. It was spoken more regularly throughout that area of southern China until the Chinese government imposed Mandarin throughout the country. Hong Kong being under British rule at the time avoided that. When the Mainland got Hong Kong back, the government has tried to impose Mandarin on Hong Kong, but it has usually been met with a lot of resistance.

This seems misleading in some ways. Mandarin, Cantonese, etc. are dialects of the Chinese language. The official dialect of the PRC government is Standard Chinese which is based on Mandarin in the Beijing region. The Republic of China before it adopted a similar official language. China is huge and has many spoken dialects, so they wanted to choose a representative one for official business. Cantonese was the native dialect for the people in southern China, but the decline in Cantonese speakers in those area nowadays has more to do with greater migration of people within the country now, most of whom speaks some form of Mandarin rather than Cantonese. People who spoke Cantonese before in those provinces still speak Cantonese now, there's no law against it, just that they are now surrounded by about the same amount of people who came to work and live from other provinces and speaking Mandarin.

Do you remember that one WWII Capture the Flag city map battle you did where after a certain number of casualties were recorded, a side would get a level of reinforcements in either troops or armor? It would be cool to see a scenario like that with this mode. A multiple Capture the Flag featuring multiple islands, similar casualties reward system, but also including helicopter deployments as well as armor and troops/transport to the specific flag area that was captured. It could be an interesting video, or multiple video. Hopefully a system wouldn't crash under that weight.

Is there really a great Vietnam war mod? Because tbh the two I've tried between Redux and the other one the ranges just suck ass and the people are bullet sponges. I'm too used to Robz Realism mod where anything similar to vanilla as far as ranges and damage goes is just trash. Really wish I knew how to change that

marines do not use amphibious m113's for landings. They use aavp7a, im not even sure if the m113 is amphibious

Marine Corps way is to do or die. Also always remember that if the USMC has to enter combat like this, believe that by the time they land the enemy forces WILL have suffered 50% casualties from air support, naval gunfire and better armored and armed vehicles which the marines always have for this kind of attacks, in tests like thus irl, it was deemed that an assault would cost no more than 20% max for USMC, most figures are 5-10%, marines always bring overwhelming fire support and each individual has a bare minimum of 4-5 grenades each

This map is only a WIP of wake island currently only the hotel and Catalina dock. If it was finished it would have a airfield further up.

Idk I'd assume it's a strategic position. Maybe an island in the way of a larger landing operation on mainland China. Maybe no airfields but imagine some anti-ship missile launchers that the PLA could've set up there I assume
