Are you wondering whether you should opt for USMLE after PG in India? Dr. Prachi is here to guide. All it takes is one decision, in which country you want to spend your life. There is no age bar to start USMLE neither there is any age bar to match into residency. I have seen people who are 60 years old and have scored 270s on USMLE. But before deciding on NEET, NEXT or USMLE it is very important to weigh all the pros and cons and your personal life vision.
Also, this video is not to hurt sentiments nor to scrutinize the reservation system in India. Every country has their own pros and cons.

They require LORs, and Clinical Experience in the US. Which means you have to "know someone", who could recommend you...
@shabirmir4762
@shabirmir4762 Жыл бұрын
@@farazalam3325 it's not about LORs. Getting LORs is not difficult . People can just do a few observerships and get LORs. Everybody has LORs. What matters is that your scores matter of steps and then how many programs you apply to which obviously is costly. If you have good scores and apply to alot of programs you get more interviews and eventually have high chance of matching.

It is indeed motivating and informative video. Congratulations and best wishes to you both - the host and the guest. I have one feedback and hope you will take it sportingly. I have heard you mentioning "reservation in India" in your couple of videos, including this one. It is debatable particularly in this era of management seats, nepotism and the social culture around. I know many students and doctors changing their family name to avoid discrimination during their study and also to ensure getting unbiased patients during their future private practice. I know this is not a platform and subject to discuss it out, so may I request you to avoid it and continue with your otherwise great work?.

Yes, you can apply for the USMLE after completing your MD in Pharmacology in India. Your MD degree can be beneficial as it demonstrates advanced knowledge and experience in a medical specialty, which can enhance your profile for residency programs. Their is a drawback with your goal setting and its my personal opinion. If you would have got into dermatology residency in USA after doing your MD derma from India , it would have showed your dedication or commitment to the branch but your reality will be that in USA you wouldn't be allowed to do any dermatology related work and would basically need to build yourself in IM. Overall your dermatology will be a poster with no value. I am personally not conformable with this idea of switching to another branch. Anyways work hard in IM residency as its not like India where residents enjoy a descent nap during night shifts.

@@sandhyasheth7378 see doctors are not burning..doctors dont hate india..its the public who are enraged against doctors, in every little things which are not in capacity of doctors..thats the reason doctors want to leave india to live in peace..and as you said itna hi jalan hai to ug se hi usa chale jao..see even if you do pg in india, you will be considered as ug in usa because they dont consider our pg as pg..still doctors after pg are sacrificing their pg degree to go to usa for peace..maine sirf likha u dont know what happening to doctors, aur itne me apka mind body soul sab jalne laga, that shows how much you pay tribute to your saviours..if doctors complain of working 36 hrs continuously then 4 hrs leave then again 36 hrs duty, people will say itna hi problem hai to chod do job, baki doctors line me hai, wo kar lenge..what does this mean?? This means indians dont treat doctors as humans, they are just machines for you, which if shows fault will be replaced asap by another..
