Great Video! Im also an IMG from the same state who just matched into internal medicine in the United States. The journey is difficult and its always heartwarming to see others who've endured this struggle and came out strong. Watching videos like these inspired me to start a youtube channel too to help fellow IMGs match into residency! Great content, keep creating more and hopefully one day we can create a collab

which medical college did u go to ? i heard only aiims , afmc, mamc and top colleges like that provide an edge to you over other colleges to get selected as they have their own research programs , which will help in making cv better . So how can i overcome that shortcoming if i'm not from one of those colleges and did not participate in any research ?

My medschool in PR (part of US, have LCME accreditation, therefore not considered an IMG) gives us only 7 weeks at MAX, if you're lucky enough to secure a spot on July 14 - our deadline - while competing with the other PR med school students for appointment, and that's if you go to dedicated right after finishing the academic year. The generous time other med schools give their students for dedicated Step 1 study time puts us at a great disadvantage. I take my Step 1 tomorrow, I couldn't be more burnt out. Carrying the burnout from last semester and adding to that dedicated burnout.

Do u think it’s reasonable for me to target for residency 2023 ( right now I’m a blank page haven’t given any steps also). I finished my internship at the end of march 2020. If I have to get into July 2023 residency then I have to apply for interviews in Sept 2022, so by then my yog gap would have been almost 2.5 years, do you think it’s a red flag? I’m going to start my preparation for the step 1, right now I feel like I’m on level 0 with my knowledge, for a person like me do u suggest I do Kaplan videos or boards and beyond ( I have not studied anything related to step 1 in the past and Whatever I have learned in mbbs I don’t really remember anything. Could u please suggest what is better for me Kaplan or BnB or should I do both ?? So that I can finish my preparation in a reasonable amount of time and also get a very high score. I’m ready to put in as much as effort possible to get a really good score It would be very very helpful if u could clarify my doubts

Start asap Choose one - i chose usmle step 1 , prepared just for it and gave neet pg on the side without any prep, however won't advice doing vice versa. Focus and excel in one thing.

Can u tell me how much minimum score is needed in TOEFL for internal medicine program?
@manikmadaan4 жыл бұрын
It varies. See if you want to apply for an elective TOEFL acores matter if you haven't given step 1. Just go to different program sites and look up the TOEFL requirements as each one has a different TOEFL score requirement even in each subject.

You don't need TOEFL for matching. Step 2 CS is taken to assume you have sufficient command on english. TOEFL is required for getting into electives before you have given the Step exams. Each program has its own requirement of TOEFL scores.
