I really like Alexi and his analysis, but since the USMNT was eliminated, he has lost the plot, along with all the other U.S. soccer pundits. They have overrated their team to the point that they think a world renown manager would put his reputation on the line by agreeing to coach a team full of losers in a country that doesn't give a hoot about the sport. You'd have to be insane to agree to manage a lousy team like the USMNT when you know that you'll never be able to live up to all the expectations that all the lunatics that comprise its fanbase have.

International athletes and coaches like the US because they get left alone. The get to be anonymous. They can take their wife or gf on a date, their kids to Disney or a game, or even a run in the park without being bothered. That doesn't mean they change their selection process for a job. The realistic goal for the US would be a 2nd WC win for the first time since 2002. If you are an elite, obsessive coach who wants to win, why would that be appealing? Brazil might come open.
@dameistersports1925

@@benoitwaffle5439 That's why the only ones who agree to go to the U.S. are people who are past their prime, as we can see with the players. When you're on top of your profession, you crave for attention, you wanna be idolized and recognized as the best in your craft. Being the manager for the USMNT is a 3rd rate job, even if it pays well. You won't find a top manager wanting to take that gig because the best don't wanna be anonymous or left alone, they wanna be celebrated and looked up to.

For me, it's time to go all out, the US needs to capitalize on this sutuation. This can make up for the 1932 debacle when the 3rd place 1930 US World Cup team could not put the sport on the US map when the sport was removed from the 1932 LA Olympic Games. If US Soccer wants to take this sport to another level they MUST succeed in the next WC here in the US. We need a great coach that fit the chemisty of the team, and that has already coached our two best players, a coach that thinks outside the box. That coach is Jurgen Klopp (he coach both Pulesic and Gio Reyna at B. Dortmund). Come on US Soccer lets get the best man for the job and happens to be available...like NOW!!!

The coach sucks. We knew that in 2022 when his feelings of revenge against the Reynas cost the team. A good coach and a few defensive and defensive midfield changes and you got a solid team that could give any top country a run for their money.

U.S. needs to think differently on how they play. They aren’t good enough to play like the elite teams do.

They don't have the depth and world class talent. Blaming the coaches, mindset, approach is not going to change much.

@@nsider2529 We have to approach with a different strategy that plays to the strengths of the team. I think the U.S. has some good speed up front but they don’t have the skills to methodically move the ball upfield while maintaining possession. I think more long passing and letting the strikers run on to the ball could be effective while being more defensively sound. They can’t bring the same pressure without being exposed on the back end. Our team just isn’t good enough.
