Gregg Berhalter has proven he can't win with the USMNT even though we have the most talent we've ever had. Will he be fired if we embarrass ourselves in Copa America?

I saw the game, it reminded me of the Netherlands game at the world cup, Berhalters tactics were easily figured out, we've got a similar issue in England with Gareth Southgate, as a manager he's inept, I actually sometimes refer to Berhalter as the American Southgate, you're right using the term loser for Berhalter, Southgate's the same, we lost 1-0 at home to Iceland the other night, the performance wasn't good either, I've said since the last Euros that despite having an excellent squad we aren't winning anything with Southgate in charge, you/we don't even need an expensive world class manager just someone with a clue

I remember watching Agoos at the birth of the MLS, then he became a yes-man in the hierarchy of US soccer establishment. This is about politics in US Soccer and similar execs keeping their power and jobs. Hard to hear but this situation is similar to Southgate in England. Yes Men. England has 22+?playsrs who could start, they could win and should have won a World Cup, but the powers-that-be at the FA especially from the red teams demand thiscand that player start and play. This US team has good talent, they need a proper manager. If he gets fired, do you think they'll hire someone with world class pedigree? No. US Soccer is like any other political org

To boost the continent's potential against other confederations, US and its neighbors must stay competitive. Venezuela, a country known for baseball, has recently tied with Brazil on their home turf and increasing their own competition for a high chance of qualifying for the World Cup for the first time and tightening the race for qualification. Conversely, the USA's performance is subpar due to a lack of competition. This situation has reached a point where even Venezuela could potentially embarrass US for this Copa America.

Not making it out of the Copa group might do it. And I'm saying might. The players would have to mutiny and unfortunately, I don' t see it happening. Gregg guarantees their spots and I find it hard to see them turning on him. The only scenario where I see the USSF axing him is if they see or sense a serious decline in fan interest in the run up to the world cup. If they see that his continued presence hurts that endeavor commercially, then they will replace him. Probably with BJ which would be fine with me. His stint with them in Nation's League, when he had the best players, was leaps and bounds better than the debacle we witnessed yesterday.

@bolasdefraile
@bolasdefraile 3 ай бұрын
Yet the problem with México are not the Coaches. The problem with México is that they are not producing the players they used to create a few decades ago. This is a bit complex, but to make it short is that they change the form the league plays and now they have no real struggle in the league and no spot for the mexican youngsters on the team. Mexico is a place with rich clubs and poor national team. Now, at least now, USA has more talent in the national team than Mexico. But the current coach hasn't been able to make them work in 5 or 6 years on the job.
@dave_mate4244

I have to disagree with you there putting pressure hasn't changed anything in Mexico. All the decisions in League and National team are pretty much done by one guy and it's been that way for years. He's destroyed the league and National team and only cares about getting the rights to show the games in his t.v networks in the U.S and Mexico. Mexico would be a lot better in League and National team if it weren't for that guy and his partners.

Asking the US to make it to top 4 is asking too much in my opinion. Berlhalter would need to be fired if he doesn't make it past group. There's no way the US will make it to semis. They advance from group stages, the US will be facing brazil or colombia. Asking the US to make it to semis even with a better coach is too much. They got destroyed by one team they could face and brazil is better than colombia. I can't see the US reaching semis. Berhalter won't get fired because the US should advance to next round and i can't see the federation firing him for losing against Brazil or colombia. The US would need to end bottom of the group to even have a chance to get fired.

The elites do not forgive any exhibition matches, as these add points to the FIFA ranking. If you are not interested in the matches, you simply do not understand this sport. You have other lower level sports to enjoy.

Honestly that game was embarrassing Greg Berhalter is not the coach us needs he hasn’t prove anything with the tools he has but I’m assuming he is politically tight with the US FA just like Gareth South Gate . If they would get a manager it would have to be someone in Europe bc the whole line up plays in Europe . MLS level coach would have no clue to play tactically with tools he has bc the quality of players .I think outsourcing a coach would be good idea bc futbol is changing and Greg isn’t moving with the change

Such a humiliating loss, let’s be honest Gio was playing way behind in the midfield, he needs to play higher up the pitch. Against top national teams playing with a ten our midfield will get rammed. Robinson was atrocious so many easy passes missed, we cannot play playing out the back with Matt, Robinson and Scally they are good players but they cannot play out the back to save their life. Midfield unable to recover create etc. we need to play Adam’s, Weston and Cardoso.

I think that the US will never be able to hire a superstar coach. They made a rule to require the women’s and men’s national team coaches to be paid the same. I’m not saying the women’s team doesn’t deserve it, but women’s transfer fees haven’t even crossed a million. Emma Hayes is the HIGHEST paid women’s soccer coach. Greg is making peanuts compared to other Men’s national team coaches. I’m all for equality, but mens and women’s soccer are just not even in the same stratosphere right now monetarily.

USMNT is more concern to show his pride colours(shame) instead of play real soccer, also conmebol is way better then concacaf, concacaf shouldnt exist, they should play against southamerican teams to gain some real experience.

The players respect and wanted Berhalter. That’s why he is back. You (most everybody saying fire Greg) can’t use Greg’s “mediocre results and performances in Europe” then ask for Jesse March. Jose Mourinho was NEVER going to come to USA. So we can’t say “make a run” for him. We reached out. He didn’t want to come. Don’t get me wrong. I’m borderline fire Greg now. After Nations League against Jamaica, that was embarrassing too. He won’t be fired until after Copa. If we make it out of the group, he’ll stay. Now that we have covered the coaching part. Does anybody anywhere have any intelligent thoughts of what’s wrong BESIDES the coaching?

I am aware that this is probably the best generation in US soccer history, but why do you say Colombia like that, this is also a great generation of players for Colombia and you also said that the talent difference is not that big meaning you know we have better players. I still don’t understand how you think that the US has to be at least be top 4. If the US manages to get out of the group (which they absolutely should do it with no problem) they will be facing two out of the four favorites to win the Copa America in a knockout round, either Colombia, Brazil or Uruguay (if everything goes normally in the group stage) and if you acknowledge that you don’t have as good talent as Colombia then you know is even worse against Uruguay and more so against Brazil. At the end you said you wanted them competing against Argentina and though they could play a good game against Argentina I don’t see them winning with or without this manager.

Coaches don’t play in the game. Soccer isn’t really a coaches game it is definitely a player centered game. American football is a coaches game not soccer. Soccer success is based on player creativity. A soccer coaches job is putting up a good roster. They come up with formations as well but the players are the ones in control of what happens in the field.

Just found this channel hoping for something new but I am sorely disappointed. I watched the first half of it and it was nothing more than repeating over and over again how much of a loser Greg is. Listen, I am and a Berhalter fan but I would have liked to hear your thought as to why. What tactics did he use that you thought were wrong? I have my own ideas but would have liked to hear yours to drum up conversations. Not just repetitive ranting that he sucks and has to go. Buddy, if you are going to rant then change the title of your video to “10 minutes of ranting about Berhalter”. Then I don’t have to waste my time.

@gtaliente

@@mamelu711 sorry. Have to disagree, Jedi is tied for 4th among defenders in the premier league in assists, so that is his strength. I agree about Scally. My problem is the constant pushing passes out wide to Weah, Robinson and then having them cross into Balogun with 3 defenders in the box. What the hell does Greg expect him to do? Grow 4 inches between the time the ball is crossed and when it gets to him? Or worse a low cross ( Jedi cannot cross in the air) to one offensive player vs 3 defenders.

@@gtaliente Heres the thing, when Antonee Robinson goes up in the attack he does so during a counter attack meaning that that the oppsing team is disarrayed, he himself cant create space nor function well in tight spaces like he is forced to in Gregg's system. Another one is the inability to fire up the team, this team looks consistently tired and nonchalant.
