@@hennman1965It's true. But I get the feeling that GB isn't going to do with what JK did in not only playing way tougher opponents, but traveling to their home countries and play them in front of their hostile fans in any weather conditions. That generation that played for JK wasn't as talented as this one but can you imagine if JK had this generation? That's why I always say that JK was the best USMNT at the wrong time.

Couple of things from the game: Wenston was great today. Technically he's much better than he's percevied and he actually looks to progress the ball than play back passes; shame Allegri stations him as a wingback because of his athleticism. I think McKennie would be better in the Bundesliga than Serie A. Weah has gotten better technically as well and provides proper width. This is great but he eats up Dest's space and kills any chance of overlap. Dest would be better as a left back but Pulisic wouldn't help him track back so that's a no for that. We desperately need a leftfooted right winger who opens up the space for Dest because he's more superflous than anything atm. Big fan of Aranson but he'll have to unsit Pulisic to play because he doesn't have the physical attributes to play on the interior. Musah seems to have stagnated, especially when deployed at the 6. As much as Adams annoys me with his limited technical ability, he's desperately missed because it affords Musah the chance to play as an 8. The CB's are a hell naw for me. We need Tim Ream there at all times. Chris Richards needs to improve on the ball if his career is to progress. Anyways, I am not a Gregg hater like most of y'all. We just have a limited pool of players, still.
@DremianBlades-cx5lj8 ай бұрын
Limited player pool it's a blasphemy. The US hasn't had this much talent since 1930 🤷

Dest on the left is worth a try, imo, especially since both Weah and McKennie have gotten minutes at right back for their clubs. we could get a lot of our best players on the field at the same time

Agreed on Ream. Hope we can develop someone else to play alongside him. 2 strong, intelligent and vocal center backs would free up so much of the wings and central midfield.
@nickvincent87608 ай бұрын
Ream was awful against Uzbekistan 🇺🇿 and has had some serious struggles for Fulham early on. I want him to improve but more importantly we need Richards, CCV, Trusty, and Mckenzie to get ready to step up(ive omitted Brooks cause I highly doubt GGG intends to bring him back).

Playing in the USA is not a home game for Mexico. That’s the excuse usa uses to host the gold cup at home every time. Oman is about Honduras level bad and Uzbekistan isn’t playing their best anymore and made some mistakes at the end. Mexico really should have beaten both Uzbekistan and Australia but I’m not sure usa could beat Australia either. USA true test will be against Ghana and Germany. Of course usa will again have home field advantage just like they will in copa America, gold cup and the next World Cup. When USA plays away they don’t do well at all. Mexico is worse than USA at the moment but not by much.

@timothymuldoon8 ай бұрын
100%. I'm surprised by the Pepi push, because when you watch both on the pitch, you can tell who has the innate positioning, on and off ball skills, the overall speed and spacing, and who passes the eye test. Not even close that Balogun will be the starting 9 in any match of consequence. Then again, it is Triple G.
@alex1vid8 ай бұрын
Credit where it's due - they should get the wins, and they went out and got them. They finished enough when they needed to. Folarin's goal was actually really good - in the past US players might miss that 50-50 or so. He's class. I dislike the narrative of Pepi vs. Balogun because sometimes it can make sense to play both together, and Berhalter has to be flexible enough to do it and see how to make it work. Weah's strike was also really good. A miss, yes, but great pace, just a little off target and early on. But some unfortunate misses too like Dests where they should've finished them more emphatically. Overall, a result they *should* get, and they got it.

Exactly, timcarr6381. Sadly, with a fed like the USSF and wife kicker gBurr as DS, the USA has not a chance to ever win The WC. Look at the goals v Oman: Pepi... a legit strike vs a horrible team, 1st goal garbage rebound tap in my dead granny could have made, an own goal by a terrible keeper from a nation rated about 70th globally vs a "Top 10" team and a free kick that went through a national team wall and bounced in + keeper muffed it. Once again, crickets from Captain America, who plays beautifully in Italy. ??? Must be... da Coach. Come on, guys, this is just political stuff to make gBurr and the Carolina mafia at the USSF look "good" after the Aussie/Zed fiasco. And did gBurr buy that pinky taupe hoody at Uptown Girls in Saint Paul right before the match? Geez, what a slob goof ball. Shames the USA match after match with his "I don't really care" Air Jordan Saturday pee wee skinny dad stretch jeans coach look in a sorry attempt to be a "cool" American. Beaverton marketing fashionista mandate or is da Coach just a femmy slob? gBurr has no idea how to maximize the talent he has with his boring, AYSO system paired with his play it backward Xs and Os thinking, Hell bent on teaching the rest of the football world how to play American SOCCER, the gBall way. The USSF needs to get in the sand box and play 12 friendlies a year and find out fast that we are not really #10 in FIFA's world. We should be, every year, playing: England, France, Germany, Holland, Italy, Spain, Ireland, Scotland, Belgium, Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay in big ass friendlies each month in temperate, Bible Belt venues and weather conditions from Raleigh to Stanford. Where real fans show up en masse to the tune of 50K butts in seats in NFL/NCAA grass stadia, not the sorry half empty 20K seat MLS stadia showings in StL + StP. The USSF should book these same friendlies, year after year. gBurr and the lads would quickly learn that he should be back in MLS where he belongs and that they deserve a real manager of international pedigree who can win us a star for our men's national team jerseys.⭐

Pepi left behind at the WC and is now balling. Berhalter doesn’t deserve this team.

What a comical match from Oman. The team that shocked everyone by beating Japan and holding Australia ended up completely destroyed by USMNT...

Shocking second goal, keeper should have had that, woeful. Why is the third goal being credited as an own goal? Oman looked poor. USA v Germany well tell us more, they just beat France 2-1, Mbappe was on the bench the whole game.
