I am 17 and also an organist. It is my main instrument (of 4) and it is very nice to know about people of such young age that realise how wonderful this instrument is!

Howdy Ty: You aren't a Cameron Carpenter........yet! He's nearly 10 years older than you and I marvel at what you might become by then. I have listened to this video so many times my family has threatened to disown me. You have an incredible talent and should continue to develop it. How I would love to be in that building to sing along with you as accompanist. All I can say is MORE VIDEOS, please! Always, Russ

Ty you are an amazing musician! WoW! I used to sing in the antiphonal choir (balcony) during my Plebe year at Canoe U.(US Naval Academy), and that hymn was a regular on the programing list as the processional. It never failed to stir my soul. Coffee with John Paul was an added bonus to being a choir member.

That is outrageous. The organ sounds similar to an organ I play in Sydney Town Hall. (Five manuals 8300 plus pipes one being a 64ft contra trombone). If you ever get to Australia come and give it a blast. Puritans will tell us that improvisation is wrong but as an organist you know that every instrument is different so you have to improvise from one organ to the next. Great job.

Gosh I love this Organ. I have 3 manual Rodgers in which I love it replaced back in 2001 a 1954 Wicks 2 manual pipeorgan which we didn't have the funds to repalce it with so the next best option was a 3 manual Reodgers which as I have already stated I love dearly. I'd love the chance to play it!

I wouldn't mind seeing Ty perform on the Wanamaker, a magnificent instrument. No, he wouldn't be the youngest to ever play the Wanamaker - a 16-year-old once played the William Tell Overture on it. Due to mergers and acquisitions, the Wanamaker now resides (without physically moving) in the Macy's department store at 13th & Market Sts., Philadelphia PA 19107. It's in the heart of the Center City downtown district.

I studied organ with a former organist at the Naval Academy Chapel, James Dale (R.I.P.) back in the late 1970s, when the organ had "only" about 80 ranks. Isn't the Cor de la Mer absolutely hair-raising! You should have heard it when it was first put in ... it was originally much louder and brighter than it is now; there were so many complaints about it that the Möller reed voicer was obliged to "tame it." Wonder what he would think of the organ as it is now!

Is this organ really now mainly digital rather than pipe? If so are the rude comments about it on the "Toccata in D Minor at the US Naval Academy" video justified? On the full organ sound, it doesn't sound as though it's all in tune but this might be a problem with KZbin sound quality.
@amtrc14 жыл бұрын
please go back to this organ and play some more and play some of the fast minor and wilide creepy scary frightnning chords. some fellas i know you've heard doo the where the fill the air with wild crashing harmony. that all right if you make a few mistakes but just thrill of see tou do this. i like to see you tackle the giant classical organ ,more more more thank mannnnnnnh

Smells, sights, and sounds all bring back memories like it happened a minute ago. This song reminds me of all those years at vacation bible school. I never understood why a guild organist chose this selection for us kids to sing being that its rather complicated. Of course now, the VBS songs are for 2008 are mostly Beach Boys rip offs as the theme is Outrigger Island, another rip off of Survivor once again!

Yes, awesome! This has been a favorite hymn of mine since "kidhood" (which was way too long ago!) I have always known this hymn as "God of our Fathers". But political "correctness" has caused a name change to "God of the Ages" in "enlightened" hymnbooks.
