It’s frustrating that people say she had an easier draw, Emma came through qualifying to reach the final without dropping a set, Emma deserves it just as much as Leylah.. it’s not Emma’s fault that all the seeded players in her half of the draw lost early and she had to beat their successor instead 😂 she would’ve played Barty, Swiatec, Andreescu and Pliskova if they matched their seedings - all 4 of those have either won a major or reached a major final in the last 24 months which is equally as difficult. If we analyse Leylah’s win - Svitolina doesn’t have pedigree in majors let’s be honest, Kerber is definitely past her best and Naomi & Sabalenka are both great ball strikers but have struggled mentally. 🤔 I’m just making a point that we don’t need to belittle Emma’s achievements compared to Leylah’s, they’ve both doing incredibly well and it’s exciting for women’s tennis! ✌🏻

To come through the 'Qualis', and not drop a set at a Major, is quite an accomplishment. She's got the complete game with youth on her side. Whoever is designing her game plan deserves a lot of praise: She gave the ball quite a bit of 'air', and that took away Sakkari's ability to 'load up' on her shots. Hitting the ball deep also helped. I didn't think she could beat Sakkari like this. She's got a slightly bigger serve, and that may give her the edge over Leyla. I like her chances in 3 sets🏆🏆
