I’m around 60 days into my probation. My wife got hired elsewhere, and during her training she got a form stating her 30/60/90 marks exactly. So, I asked the district training development center for the same form. Instead, they emailed my supervisor to ask why I didn’t have this info. So then I got in trouble and they asked me why I didn’t just ask them. So I did, and they didn’t tell me! Then they scheduled me 3 days and already called off one of them. I feel like I don’t fit at this station anyhow and it’s far from home. Prob gonna search rn for a closer position and reapply. Plus, they have 15 CCAs with no one close to retiring. My wife’s station has 8 CCAs and several are looking for retire soon. All signs point to starting fresh at a spot with more upward mobility.

Your right after your 90 days. A Trade may work better. Lots of Offices are Shorthanded and aren't willing to give up their Employees. If you have missed a few days or taken sick days most Offices are reluctant to to take you. Glad you found a good Office. 90 percent of them are Hostile Environment with the Supervisor Postitions filled with Carriers who couldn't do the Job and are Mean at Heart and have no Conscience. And Most are women with a chip on their shoulders and willing to do anything for advancement. Retired from a City Carrier a few years back. Seen just about everything.

I transferred just fine from one office to another. First one, I would've been a ptf in two years. The new one, I'll make regular by the end of the year. Not all offices and areas work together as well as my home offices, but just something to consider.
@rinocue2 жыл бұрын
You have to remember that when you transfer you lose the time you put in for the 2yr limit as a ccc to ptf. You are lucky that you won't need to worry about that since there will be an opening prior to that. Many people make that transfer only to spend more time as a cca than desired.

@@rinocue I don't think any of us desire to be a cca at all. This shit is hell currently.

@@kitetsukra7751 yeah very true. My first office was hell but my new office is the complete opposite. So thankful my pm let me go and secretly she helped me by holding me bc I was reassigned on my break in service which meant I didn't lose any of the time I put in already.

You can transfer after your 90, is correct. You only lose time at the station you transfer from not your retirement. At your new station you will start at the bottom of the senority list

Thanks for the vid and the advice. QUESTION: As a 3-week old CCA with still NO LLV training, NO Dss card, and barely got my locker 3 days ago, I was shuffled off to another station which was severely understaffed. I was assigned a route which the regular who was instructing me told me was a "monster route" and it was holy hell!! But I liked the fancy building here in NYC, very posh neighborhood. And the supervisor, including the 204B helping me out along with the regulars around me were all AMAZING!! I loved it here compared to my stressful home station. How can I transfer to the understaffed station I went today? Its actually closer to my home I can actually go home walking 20 blocks and I'm home. I feel completely ignored (no LLV training, no Academy, no Dss card to clock in yet, only got a locker after bugging my union shop clerk to find me one (apparently the regulars at my station have 2-3 lockers each, they take them after someone retires or quits). I want out of this place!!! HELP!!!

With no academy they really shouldn't even have tou touching mail. No llv training you shouldn't be driving the truck as well. The rule of the national agreement states after your 90/120 a cca can request a transfer. Being as you are so new I would tell you to go onto the same website you originally applied and look to see if the desired office has openings and apply for it. After fingerprints are given you will get an email stating your new hire date. Orientation date and the supervisor info. At that point you can resign. Do not resign before you get that Orientation date. Remember though however long that takes you will lose that time put in. If you stick it out the first year and ask for a reassignment you will not lose that time. A transfer will also lose that time. I was in the same situation as you when I started. I stuck with it and by the end of my first year I was able to be reassigned to an office I desired and it couldn't be better. I also became the shop steward as a cca in my old office which helped me sway their decision to reassign me.

If you tell them any reason you want to go to the other station always say it is closer to home. Unless it's childcare issues nothing else matters to management.

Thank you for the info I am in an office in a town that is less desirable the management is not mean but I am stuck in a horrible route in the ghetto that has been vacant for some time. The other cca’s bounce around but I am forced to do this route and this is not what I signed up for. I am two months in and would like to move to another office asap.
@rinocue2 жыл бұрын
I didnt see that first part before answering. Do you feel it is dangerous to deliver there? If so you can always ask your steward about different options. If it's unsafe there might be a way out of it.

Question: how do I get reassigned after my 5 day break do I have to still reapply or go on lite blue or speak with the other station? My break is coming up in August
@rinocue2 жыл бұрын
So as a cca you need to have both postmasters agree to the transfer. As long as the other office you are trying to go to wants to scoop you up then you have a good chance. Push your current postmaster on the idea. For me I put in three transfers that were denied. I then applied and was rehired 3 separate times and was never given a start date. Then I became the union steward in my old office. When my break came up they told me I was going to be reassigned to my desired office. My advice is to not let up on them but don't be abrasive. Come to work do the job and they will most likely work with you on going to another office. You have many options use them all. Liteblue to apply to other stations. Keep that to yourself but let them know you want to go somewhere else bc it's closer to home or something

Hi I have a question regarding my transfer
@MrMalambing2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the info I am a cca only two months in and I get a terrible route that is unsafe every day. I want to get out of that office asap because this is not what i signed up for. Other cca’s started same time as me have never done this route. Should I stick it out ? My gut says cut ties now.
@rinocue2 жыл бұрын
It depends on you. I stuck it out because I have a family to look after with an another on the way. When I was going through it I was miserable and hated it. Once I was able to be in another office that treated me better everything changed. I was happier and enjoyed the job more. I would take a bad route over bad management any day of the week. Ultimately it comes down to what is going to make you happy in the long game bc the short game comes and goes before you know it.

i drive 55 miles to my post office hehe. my oic and the postmaster that's on detail said they would help, the poom did too. but you never know, it is hard. However, I know a friend who transferred and the person at his past office who landed on a route couldn't do it---so the person who had 100 days got on the route made regular lol roflmao. imagine that lol.

The post office is the biggest game of chess. One move might look good but in the end works out for the opposition. One thing to remember is union or not the post office does what they want when they want. Im pro union but I also know that he who holds the gold makes the rules. When I transferred into my new office they magically hired 7 people before my start date. After those 7 quit they magically bypassed the conversion of 5 ccas to transfer in 3 regulars. 2 never showed up and the 3rd is not putting in her two weeks notice.

I’m currently a CCA at an office. I went online and applied to other post offices and received another job offer an an office that is way closer to home. I accepted the job offer and online it said I have to resign from my current office which is fine with me. I haven’t received an email with a new start date even though it’s been 3 weeks. My supervisor told me she won’t allow me to leave the current station until she gets somebody new coming in to replace me. She hasn’t even turned in my resignation paperwork which is stopping me from starting at the other office. Can the union get involved to fix this or do you have an advice on how I should fix this?
@rinocue Жыл бұрын
Definitely speak with the union. Go to the union hall and speak to an officer. Don't waste tour time with your local steward. Don't resign without getting an offer but Definitely talk to your local officers at the hall. You can call them or go into the office.

Hi. How does it work with reassignment? I was just hired as a CCA in one town (Start work next week) but found another town closer to me that is hiring. What's your opinion on what I should do? Thanks for your help :)
@synyster_1722 жыл бұрын
I was "reassigned". So does that mean once I hit 24 months since my original hire date, I will still be converted to PTF? I was hired in Oct 2020, but I did the reassign in May 2022. October 2022 is coming up quick and I'm all sorts of confused if I will be a CCA and no one will give me a straight answer
