The deliverymen in Killeen, TX aren't anything like this guy. When they ring or knock when "delivering" a package, they leave the package in front of the door and are back in their truck before you can get to your door. One guy (I found out in recreation) made it back to his truck in the 8-9 seconds it took me to open my door. I saw him abiut to drive off and saw my package left at the door..."delivered." At least that guy rang the bell. Over the last few years (pre-COVID-19), they've stopped ringing or knocking and just leave the package at the door. The last package that was "delivered" was just left at the door with no Delivered or Out for Delivery updates. I was working in the living room for 2-3 hours that day from around 9am. After the fact,my package was shown as "delivered" - more like left - at 10:20am. This only reason I actually got my package was because my daughter stopped by to check on me at 2:30pm. Otherwise, the porch pirates would have been enjoying my package (some electrics.)

Of course he's going to be super thorough on camera. You have to remember that 8-10 seconds is all the time they have to give you your mail and consider it safely delivered. Mail carriers are visiting hundreds of homes and apartments per day on their routes, working relentlessly during peak shopping seasons and holidays

Why ring bell? I was never told in training I had to ring bell. Most people are annoyed when bell is rung and even put notes on door "baby asleep do not ring."
