There is a $365 half a day training on competition pistol training offered by the outdoor range facility that runs clubs etc. They teach rules and techniques. Do you think it’s worth it?

Production is no longer limited to 10 rounds. it's now 15 rounds.

I like the video, and I appreciate it. I am gearing up now for my first round of USPSA. Some of the rules in Production have changed, you can basically modify whatever you want on the gun aside from porting the barrel, slide milling and magwells. I think there was a few other's but no longer limited on internal visible modifications outside of the sights/grips
@2AGunsmithingandFirearms5 жыл бұрын
MR. MAGNOLE , you're correct on the rules changes 😉, my production rig now reflects those changes. Might be time for me to make an update to this video

The .40 caliber minimum for major power factor is only in the limited division per the USPSA rules. The open division has no minimum caliber for major power factor, which is why .38 Super is so popular with "race guns". Open division has the minimum 9 x 19, but no extra minimum for Major power factor. Never mind you mention that later, sorry.

What is the minimum trigger pull weight for uspsa production and what trigger system do you recommend?
@2AGunsmithingandFirearms7 жыл бұрын
There is no minimum trigger pull weight in and division. For triggers you can't disable or remove any safeties. Basically when it comes to trigger work for Production guns you can do whatever you want as long as any external part (the trigger itself) and and safeties are intact. Any other parts, like springs, you can swap out; you can polish contact points, etc. Depending on what gun you have there are tons of different parts suppliers. For M&P the most prominent is Apex Tactical.

Do you need a membership to attend an event? & Would I show up to my 1st event with my gear, or would you advise just a spectator type meet & greet?
@2AGunsmithingandFirearms7 жыл бұрын
Lex Green , either way will probably work, depends on your comfort level. I personally just a signed up and showed up with my gear. I got a USPSA membership too. Often times you won't need a membership to participate in a local club environment. You can reach out to the club or match director and see how they specifically like to do things. I've been to clubs where they require a meet and greet/orientation and others where you just show up.

You said your holster is dropped and offset? I was looking at the mid ride SafariLand with OLS system, is this legal?
@2AGunsmithingandFirearms7 жыл бұрын
Jaren Jarrell , I am not sure off the top of my head. In production division the blackstrap of the grip must be above the belt line and the gun enclosed. The slide can be exposed something like 1/2" below the ejection port. As long as that criteria is met is should be Ok.
@kirkmarsh76207 жыл бұрын
Can you use a red dot sight in production division
@schneir56 жыл бұрын
No, you can't use any kind of optics in production division or even limited. Open Division is the only one where you can use optics like that.
@steveh17925 жыл бұрын
@@schneir5 USPSA Carry Optic division is a thing now...
@fairweatherbull49083 жыл бұрын
Not only is there an optic division they no longer have a 10 round limit, for some reason this division says as many rounds that will fit in a 140mm mag, for my CZ that's 17 rounds. Initially there was a 10-round magazine capacity limit, but from 1 February 2017 the magazine capacity limit was raised to any magazine that can fit a 140 mm USPSA gauge
jon mcleod , a ton better than stock! Gives you a little more length and grip surface for more positive mag seating. Essentially, if the rules allow for it, you should probably explore it because your competition sure is! ;)

Limited to 10 rounds why the base plates?
@2AGunsmithingandFirearms5 жыл бұрын
Sscott Allan the base plates do not add capacity, but they do give a little more meat to grab onto and a little more weight to help empty mags drop out faster and smoother, and ya know, style! ;)

Did you use a match barrel?
@2AGunsmithingandFirearms7 жыл бұрын
Not Currently (as of 8/28/17). Stock barrel has plenty good accuracy at the ranges typically seen in USPSA. I may upgrade to an Apex barrel in the future, but I do not feel that swapping my barrel would improve things in a statistically significant way (enough to warrant $200)

Yup! The mag release can only extend the length, not the area (can't be wider). you can swap sights with anything you choose (no optics unless you're going to Carry optics or Open)

how did you find out we're to go to start competing and how much does it cost ?
@klrscout7 жыл бұрын
Look on USPSA website, there should be a list of clubs that host matches. There will be bare bones info about match schedules, but that may be out of date. Best to then go to the clubs website fir better info. It's been a long time for me, but I recall match fees being low, say $20 US. Be prepped to join the club if you intend to shoot matches there often. Hope this helps.

How many mags do you have on your belt? I am going to start under production and don't know how many to have on my belt.
@2AGunsmithingandFirearms7 жыл бұрын
Kevin Martinez , I have 5 on the belt. I have 8 mags total. At a stage start I have a stripper mag in my right back pocket (for putting a round in the chamber), then my first mag in my left back pocket. 5 fully loaded on the belt for stage reloads.
@Crraziee7 жыл бұрын
How does the belts have to sit? Like does it need to go through belt loops etc or can u just buckle it as a rig and run it that way?

USPSA rules stipulate that the inner belt must pass through at least three belt loops.

@orion89815 жыл бұрын
Realistically, you can compete with whatever you want. Doesn't mean you'll win, but there's no rule I've ever seen that says you can't go out there with a Hipoint C9 and a few mags in some milsurp pouches. It's not the organization that costs a lot money, it's the guns and accessories. That's no fault of the sport.
