Most movies use airsoft as props and add in the muzzle flash and gunshots afterward in post, especially if the gun is meant to look like it's fired at close range with the shooter and the victim in the shot. They did it in all the John Wick movies as well.

This film is based on ( and I guess a sequel ) to the great book titled " The Most Dangerous Game" by Richard Connell. Interestingly, the protagonist is Rainsford, who gets stranded on an island and is hunted by a rich man whom has grown tired of the easy hunt and requires a more resourceful prey. Rainsford eventually defeats him and I guess according to this film decides to take up the same craft of hunting humans.
