Filling gaps between e.g. metal torso and plastic arms I've always found the two-part epoxy putty (like green stuff) a great helper. You can roll it into very thin strips, it's sandable afterwards and that stuff definitely will block the light.

I've got some two-part epoxy putty (Tamiya brand, I think), but I've never used it. I'll have to give it a try. Thanks!

This is one of my favorite ships from the Star Trek universe. You've been subbed

Welcome to the channel! Spending the time to build this model has given me a much greater appreciation for the Defiant's design.

Try using black Tulip paint for light blocking and gaps. I think you'll dig it.

Yeah, that stuff is great. That is what is in the syringe I'm using in this video. For very small gaps, I like to use the thinner paint so it will wick into the gap.

Could of still use the stand you wanted to use by filling in the slit on the stand and drilled a hole for the tubing. But nice anyways, thanks for sharing.

Yes, that's a good point. I like my finished result, even if it's a bit jiggly.

Seams are really a problem. Looks great though.

Thank you! Yeah, it was quite a bit of work.

A generous coat of sprue goo will fix that gap and the light leak.

I've never done anything with sprue goo. I'll have to give that a try.
