I think this has to be my favourite bridge ambience. Such a lovely mix of old and new sound effects. I'm going to miss this show now that it's ending :(

I discovered another channel that has a lot of these types of Trek Ambient videos, but now I'm hooked on Discovery and I played this video on a loop all afternoon at work yesterday. Today should be the same. Thanks for putting out this video! I only wish there were some legal way to get it into my iTunes library to listen to on flights and in situations where I don't have to have KZbin open.

i feel like they did a better job in the ST Online game than they did on the actual show. The effects on the series are mostly stolen from previous movies and shows mixed together illogically. I've heard warp core breach effects for proximity alerts... Enterprise A effects.. Voyager door chimes.. it's all over the place. no one knows what they're doing over there at CBS.

I love immersive background ambience like this. I'd like to suggest further exercises in imagination, perhaps the SHIELD Helicarrier bridge, the Addams Family living room, a communications room in the BPRD ( Hellboy) bunker, or the bridge of Captain Nemo's NAUTILUS. Maybe even the basement bunker of the X-Files characters, The Lone Gunmen, during a long night assembling their next conspiracy tract. The Helicarrier bridge has special attraction to me, since I'm a SHIELD geek from my childhood.

Im not a HUGE fan of discovery but i don't hate it either. The only thing I really hate on discovery is the new Klingon appearance they used. I prefer the TNG Klingons, although the Klingons in discovery were buitifly portraid in their brutality as a warrior race. And I agree, the ship is beautiful and unique.

It's nice though the thing I noticed is it feels rather cold and hostile, functional. Compare this to Enterprise (TNG) which feels roomy and cosy like a sort of space hotel with soft seating and warm colours and lighting.

This is a great video, but no; the ships look like shit and the interiors are like some kind of facsimile of a Federation starship. Superficial gloss which flatters to deceive. Just like the show.

You could easily do that yourself. Just use Audacity to record this one hour audio piece and either copy-and-paste ten segments together, or simply 'loop' the one hour recording where it automatically restarts at the end for it to run indefinitely.

For a show that is messed up they spent a lot of money makeing good sets and sounds. This is quite pleasing to look at and listen to.🤔

Yeah, seems like instead of spending money on good writers and seasoned actors (besides maybe pike), they blew it on the production budget. It frustrates me on the show because they go overboard with the sound effects, stealing/recycling/sourcing sounds from the wrong eras... there's LCARS effects from TNG thru Voyager.. mixed with TOS movie era effects.. on top of their own pre-TOS heard here.. this doesn't have any of that.. taken from star trek online, who apparently have more attention to detail.

I have noticed something else aswell, the enterprise bridge as nice as it looks on pike's ship has the wrong colour scheme. They did not have red and black on the bridge untill kirk took over for his five year mission, how dumb is that.🙄

tbh i really like discovery. i think its getting better. if people just get over the fact that its a visual reboot, maybe people would stop freaking out about the ships and stuff. personally I really like the new designs of ships, klingons, and uniforms. i think its a fresh new take and it significantly improved over season 2 (with the fixing of klingons with hair and the introduction of the D7). I also feel that the haphazard klingon ship designs are explained by the civil war that was happening between the houses. I will say however that alot of the different sounds going on are a bit much. in the first season I feel that the team was too hooked on giving references to other shows. however the phaser designs and props are an amazing transition between ENT and TOS, same thing for the uniforms. (for the ships and interiors, again visual reboot which i am very ok with) in conclusion season 2 is much better than 1. it really tried to save discovery from the bad writing in season one. im glad to see it getting better.

USS Discovery... never heard of it, unless you're talking about the Clarke "Odyssey" series, HAL9000 and all that. Is this from that war series where the "Klingons" look like the monsters from "Aliens"? I've never sat through an episode of that and don't intend to; I hate the whole series from what little I've seen; it's an abomination from start to finish. Cool-looking starship, though. I wonder what that bee-buzzing sound is?
