To me, I really enjoy gearing. I build my gearing fully into the torps and they are fast, 72 knots around that and they can actually hit stuffs that I intend them for. I am a gunboater so if I wanna gun I will just take harugumo, gdansk, marceau or sherman. But the other thing I love about the gearing beside its torps is its guns. Def not the best in the world but even in a full torp build, I still confortably gun and contest caps against halland or other hybrids. The gearing is a very enjoyable ship for both beginners and unicums.

Gearing is really the swiss army knife of destroyers. Not great at any one thing but not bad either. I like the gearing and have some awesome games in it. I really like the 16km torps and the guns are not awful. The fire chance is horrible but it is what it is.

honestly i would prefer the Z-42 now over the Z52, forgive me if i get the numbering wrong, it's the German Harugumo...even though i have the Z52 i would still take the gearing and yueyang over it...just my particular playstyle

I also favor YY over Gearing. However my playstyle is more torpfocused, so when Im in a gunboat mood, ill take the Gdansk instead ;)....allthough its detection is far worse.

As a dd main the past 3 years and after a lot of games with dds like Smaland, Ragnar, Vampire II , lutsun, Sherman , Marceau, Kleber, Daring, Druid, Gdansk etc I have to say that if i have to advise a new dd player that want o grind a line i suggest Daring and n 1. Gdansk! those two have the ability even tho they re teck tree to deal with the premium monsters that i said above really good. Ships like Gearing and Yueyang are outdated for me.
