I think they carry 60 --70 fighter jets, not sure, the US Military, Army, Navy, and Air Force have approximately 14, 000 + jet fighters.

@@davidhynes ya I think that’s just about right, which 60-70 doesn’t seem like much but it really is and it’s actually bigger than many of the worlds air forces, and considering how much each aircraft costs and how new most are, it’s insane!

I can only imagine how incredible it must be for the people seeing in person what they have read about and seen in video's. The Scale is Astronomical. Literally a Floating City and Airport with 3500 crew. A lot of folks criticize the US and rightfully so in some cases but there is No argument the US spends their money wisely on power projection and power defense. In a World of Ruzzia's,Iran,China and NK all having Pirate like Military arms its Good too know the US and NATO are the World Police and stopping those few from ruining it for the rest of us. i believe it was there just to deliver F-16 fighters and that was it

It's there for NATO exercises. F-16's are not designed for use on a Carrier.

As big as the Ford looks here in this video. Actually seeing 🇺🇸 aircraft carrier in person is the only way to really know how big they are. I mean, the Ford is $13billion of healthcare money spent. I’d like to think my tax money was used to construct it.

They have those on the Amphibious ships like the America class LHD's. The Super carriers like the Ford hold conventional jets as they're heavier and carry more munitions like heavier missiles.

As I underrstand it needs to have some upgrades installed for the F-35C. The upcoming USS John F. Kennedy CVN 79 will be the first to come with the neccessary upgrades to accommodate the F-35C. The USS Gerald R. Ford CVN 78 will get the upgrade in 2025.

@@petewilliams5801 As I understand, the f35s, regardless of variant, are equipped with the same payload capabilities as the FA-18s. Theyre primarily meant for ambitious warfare with the marines, hence their being based on amphibious platforms. The could be used for integrative warfare, but the navy already have the hawkeye aircraft for that. But, hey, what do I know?
