all war is 99% boredom 1% sheer terror, if you don't believe me you haven't been there. i made 1 neuc cold war deterrent patrol. there was some fun times during the patrol, just glad we didn't have to launch, the world would have become a real mess. i love these old movies, seeing some of the actors who became stars later on. thanks for posting these.

1% huh? Try being an infantryman in combat. It’s a little more then 1% I reckon.

Not just the magnetic, but also the contact torpedoes were unreliable early in the war. The Guardfish was lucky to have contact torpedoes that worked.

It was criminal what these men had to use as torpedoes until 1943. At least it got better after that, but wasn’t 100% fixed yet.

Big Turbo EJ8 Ditto Dude,I’m a loyal fan as well, when I find a utuber I watch faithfully with all support, to the point that similar content, in this case, exact, I refrain from viewing at all, a rare exception allows me side step due to some obscure issue or fact. Also thank you Richard, always dreamed of navel life, tried enlisting bout 75/76 but interrupted and intercepted by my handlers, due to prior unsworn non uniformed involvement, it would never be reality, have be onboard us/ussr sub boat’s as well as other us types, to wit, us bb, sub tender, destroyer,b 52, ac-10, an just a few more, I should point out all without authorization, I penetrated inner security defense of active standing B-52, received an answer to know who accompanied a coronal flying out of strategic air command base, and review flight list of all departed as well as scheduled for 24hrs either way, side tracked a bit, however back on the farm, the navy was always a passion. Responding under roommate device, me is jmrussack@gmail in closing with intelligence I hit the mark, a 100% of the time I was happy so to speak. All the best to ya, James Kolminskey....... is it real, or is it memorex

It’s a shame she was sunk in 1960 off block Island. She would have made a great museum boat.

Very seldom did they get actors that could actually act. Still fun to watch though.

@@ailleurd I agree. What makes us all individuals should not be what drives us to war. Many people have different religious beliefs and opinions, but that should not be used as an excuse to kill in our Lord's name (whoever your Lord may be). It is very sad, sad that our world has come to this.
