dmc coins this was an exciting adventure for me. When I was in the Navy, I worked on the Lockheed S-3 Viking. It was a carrier based sub hunter.

Cool video! Makes you wonder how they loaded torpedos into the sub before it sailed out

AJ&Dillon at 1:58, I walk past the spot where they loaded the torpedos into the sub. At 4:13 I’m looking up at where the torpedos came inside.

torpedoes were loaded thru special hatches with ropes and pulleys on removable rails. It was back breaking work. Its a nice self tour, but I do wish they would show us the lower decks and the tower deck, all of which are locked up for good reason. The engines still run. It cannot submerge due to the 2 access ways cut into the hull, but it can get underway.
